Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday during a press conference revealed a new plan of reviving the sinking Indian automotive market. Scotland's first minister was speaking in the Scottish Parliament ahead of the 30th anniversary of the tragedy on December 21 1988, in which 270 people from 21 nations died. The Solicitor General for Scotland, Alison Di Rollo, will attend events in the United States on Friday, whilst Lord Advocate James Wolffe will represent the Scottish Government at a memorial service in Lockerbie. However, there are CO2 emissions, because producing electricity means partially using fossil fuels. Here starts our story: in most of the countries, Tesla Model S owners receive a tax credit from the government. That’s why, when a guy called Joe Nguyen bought a Model S in Hong Kong and brought it in Singapore, he was hoping for a tax rebate. He first had to legalize the car, but it was no rebate at all. More, he had to pay a fine for failing the emission test, because the car isn’t environmentally friendly. So, instead of an over 10.000 USD rebate, he was finned with 10.000 USD! That’s because the Model S needs a 444 Wh/km, which means the equivalent of 221g/km which, according to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) means excessive CO2 emissions. Pakatan Harapan (PH) will remove toll in stages within 100 days of governing if it wins the upcoming general election (GE), Sinar Harian reports. “We will remove toll in stages based on concession contracts. The procedures of the abolishment in stages will be announced when we take over Putrajaya,” PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said yesterday after chairing the PH presidential council meeting in parliament. Mahathir added that the opposition coalition will also scrap the goods and services tax (GST) within 100 days of taking power, while providing free public higher education. In PH’s GE14 manifesto, the opposition also promises targeted fuel subsidies to eligible groups and a reduction of excise duties on imported cars below 1,600 cc, to assist first-time car buyers.
