Home Four wheelers oi-Agnel Rose Lukose By Agnel Rose Lukose Published: Tuesday, June 6, 2023, 8:40 [IST] Legal battles between consumers and car manufacturers are pretty common nowadays. One such case was recently reported in Chhattisgarh, where a customer who purchased a Ford Endeavour won compensation of Rs 29.13 lakh and a brand-new car. The customer had been experiencing persistent problems with the SUV since buying it nearly seven years ago. The court ruled in favor of the customer, holding Ford India Pvt Ltd. responsible for selling a faulty vehicle. In response to the dispute, Justice Gautam Chourdiya of the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered the dealer to give the customer a new car of the same model, which had been manufactured recently. Also, Ford has to pay the customer, a compensation of Rs 29.13 lakh, the vehicle's on-road price back then, along with 6 per cent interest for the last seven … [Read more...] about Court Orders Ford To Compensate Customer With Rs 29 Lakh And A New Endeavour – Legal Battle

What are LMH and LMDh? The top Le Mans 24 Hours series explained
That’s two different rulebooks to which a manufacturer can build a car for the top category of the series. So on the 16-stong Hypercar entry for Le Mans this year there are nine LMHs and six LMDhs. What is LMH and LMDh? LMH stands for Le Mans Hypercar, a rulebook that has been in force in the WEC since 2021. LMDh is new for 2023, but you’ll never see the name written out, it’s not officially an acronym. But it is easy to guess what the letters mean given that the class was formulated by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest at Le Mans and IMSA based at Daytona in the USA. That little ‘h’ on the end refers to the fact that these cars, like their LMH rivals, incorporate hybrid technology. The two types of car are very different in some respects, but actually very similar in others. What’s the difference? LMH allows a manufacturer to design and develop its own car from top to tail - or rather from the nose to the tail. That includes all elements of the hybrid system, which, if … [Read more...] about What are LMH and LMDh? The top Le Mans 24 Hours series explained
Le Mans 24h: Ferrari locks out front row, Cadillac suffers fire
Fuoco paced the 30-minute session, featuring the fastest eight cars from Wednesday's first qualifying, with a best time of 3m22.982s at the wheel of the 499P he shares with Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen . Both of the Ferrari LMHs jumped to the top of the timesheets early on, with Alessandro Pier Guidi initially leading the way on a 3m23.987s in the #51 car ahead of Fuoco in the sister #50 entry. Pier Guidi then improved to a 3m23.478s, which was scrubbed for a track limits infringement, before Fuoco upped the ante by posting the first sub-3m23s effort of the week so far, outpacing his team-mate by 0.773s despite getting baulked by a GTE Am Ferrari exiting Indianapolis. That time remained the benchmark when the session was red-flagged with five minutes left on the clock as a result of Cadillac driver Sebastien Bourdais stopping at the first chicane after suffering a dramatic fire. Bourdais was able to escape the smouldering #3 Cadillac V.Series-R unscathed, having … [Read more...] about Le Mans 24h: Ferrari locks out front row, Cadillac suffers fire
Canadian GP not under threat from wildfires, say F1 · RaceFans
Formula 1 expects next week’s Canadian Grand Prix to go ahead as normal despite wildfires which have affected air quality in the area. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free Over 150 fires have been reported in Quebec, the province which is also home to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve where the race is due to take place. The pollution caused by the fires has led to warnings in surrounding areas where millions of people have been advised to wear face masks as a precaution against smoke inhalation. The smoke has spread far beyond Quebec to the north and south, including into the United States of America. However according to F1 the fires are around 800 kilometres from the circuit, the air quality in Montreal has already begun to improve and they have no concerns about the event going ahead. Air quality in the city fell below normal standards earlier in the week – though it was better than at some venues F1 visits – and has since improved. Forecasts for the … [Read more...] about Canadian GP not under threat from wildfires, say F1 · RaceFans
Toyota: Le Mans win possible with hydrogen prototype from 2026
Pascal Vasselon, technical director of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe, is confident there is “no roadblock” to achieving WEC promoter the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s target of having hydrogen-powered machinery competing on equal terms with the existing cars in the Hypercar class from '26. “Everything is possible with a technological push,” Vasselon told Motorsport.com. “There is no roadblock if the technological level is allowed — it should be feasible. “In most cases, the level of performance of a racing car is determined by the regulations." Vasselon’s comments have come after ACO president Pierre Fillon firmed up plans for a new hydrogen class at the Le Mans 24 Hours and in the WEC at Fuji last month. He made several key announcements about a class that has been in planning since 2018 ahead of the Fuji 24 Hours, in which Toyota was competing with the latest version of its hydrogen-powered Corolla H2 Concept. They included the opening up of the category to … [Read more...] about Toyota: Le Mans win possible with hydrogen prototype from 2026
2013 Canadian GP review: Vettel makes amends for 2011 – F1 Fanatic
Sebastian Vettel made amends for his last-lap defeat at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve two years ago and bolstered his championship lead with his third victory of 2013. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free It wasn’t a flawless performance from Vettel – he brushed the wall on the way and ran wide at the first corner. But if he occasionally looked like throwing victory away no one ever looked like taking it off him. Vettel streaks away as Bottas goes backwards The same two drivers shared the front row as last year: Vettel ahead of Lewis Hamilton . But the opening laps were strikingly different: far from keeping Vettel in his sights, Hamilton could only look on as the Red Bull drove away in the opening laps. Behind them Valtteri Bottas fought hard to hold onto his hard-won third place from qualifying but his car was clearly unequal to the struggle. Nico Rosberg passed him off the line and Mark Webber got past in the opening corners. Bottas defended firmly … [Read more...] about 2013 Canadian GP review: Vettel makes amends for 2011 – F1 Fanatic
The Lexus GX’s New Overtrail Trim May Come To Other Models
The 2024 Lexus GX is notable for a few big reasons. Yes, it’s a redesign of a 14-year-old product, and yeah, it looks pretty damn cool. If you asked ChatGPT to render a 70-Series Toyota Land Cruiser with a modern Lexus face, the 2024 GX would probably be the result. But beyond looking cool and reviving a nearly dormant model line, the new GX comes not with an F-Sport badge, but repping the new Overtrail trim. To put it simply, Overtrail is to Lexus as Trailsport is to Honda or, for that matter, what F-Sport is to road-focused Lexus products. It’s a light collection of mechanical upgrades that includes some aesthetic touches – the result is improved performance with little to no sacrifice to everyday civility. And if the Trailsports and Rock Creeks and Trailhawks of the world are any indication, the consumers should love it. So that leads to the obvious question: when will we see another Lexus Overtrail, and will it come to the brawny LX ?
