Seriously, it's the opposite of a Tiger Roar, and it happens when Woods fails at greatness, his fans at Augusta National reacting with almost complete silence, as if their surprise has rendered them speechless. They turn their backs, shake their heads and walk away. They were doing that a lot on an afternoon that revealed a truth that everyone should have known but few probably wanted to believe. … [Read more...] about Dream scenario of Tiger Woods contending at the Masters quickly fades
For Cal Ripken Jr., the resounding crack of a wooden bat striking a baseball in the sweet spot was the sound of spring — much more satisfying than the “ping” or “bink” heard when a youth player with an aluminum bat makes contact.“I was from a baseball family, and I thought wood was what you were supposed to use,” the Hall of Famer says. But Ripken concedes that more powerful aluminum bats have a lighter feel and can be easier for young players to swing.Like coaches and parents around the country, the Orioles icon is “a little torn” over which is better for kids. It’s a baseball debate as old as the designated hitter: wood or metal? Now the amateur game’s governing body has stepped to the plate this season with a new standard aimed at splitting the difference: Metal engineered to perform like wood. Many coaches believe the bats, more old-school and with less “pop” than earlier aluminum versions, will be more … [Read more...] about Wood bat or metal? New youth baseball rule tries to settle the debate. But it’s expensive.

Dean Smith felt that it wasn't worth Brentford appealing Ryan Woods' red card against Sheffield United as the footage had showed that he had put his hand into Jamal Blackman's face. The Bees ace was given his marching orders for scrapping with the Blades goalkeeper, who was also dismissed. Smith, originally, was unhappy with the red card but felt there was no way an appeal would be successful. He said: “I watched the incident back. There's not a chance you'd have got him off for it. I thought it was handbags. “They both put a hand in each others' face and by the letter of the law the referee got the decision correct.” The incident happened while all the other Bees players were celebrating Chris Mepham's equaliser and it is fair to question whether Woods' actions were necessary. Tweet TweetThe Japanese engineers never stop amazing us with bizarre concept cars. This time is Setsuna’s turn to show its unusual elements and features. The craziest one is that it’s body is made of wood! We don’t know if it’s ants-proof, but we’re sure that a double-sized fire extinguisher is a must! You’ll have to be in Italy next month, to see it at Milan Design Week. But why wood? First, because it’s a durable material. Then, because it changes its color and texture, transforming over the years. So it’s not about being practical, but mainly about being a symbol of the relationship between a solid car and a family’s many generations. It’s like a car that gets old alongside its owner, in a meaningful story. The whole meaning was brilliantly concentrated in its short name: Setsuna means “moment” in Japanese. It was chosen to symbolize all the beautiful moments spent by the owner near the car, which makes it … [Read more...] about Wood And Electrons In One Package:Toyota Setsuna
