Home Four wheelers oi-Punith Bharadwaj By Punith Bharadwaj Updated: Thursday, February 25, 2021, 12:12 [IST] The use of FASTag for four-wheelers have been made mandatory for toll collection on highways across the country. However, the new rule is causing some troubles for users at the toll plaza for various reasons. Chief among the reasons are the sensors used at the toll plaza, which sometimes malfunction creating a huge queue of vehicles at the toll plaza. This is solved by toll attendants using a manual scanner to complete transactions. This results in longer wait times for users at the toll booth. As a result, a report from TOI reveals that the government is working on a solution. The (NHAI) National Highway Authorities of India will draw a distinctive colour line at every lane of the toll booth. When the queue of cars touch that line, the toll operator will have to open the toll gate for all the vehicles and that … [Read more...] about FASTag Fee Exempted For Vehicles Queued Up At Toll Plaza: Explained In Detail

Courtney expected to ‘step up’ in second Tickford season
The Boost Mobile boss has been a long-time backer of Courtney, but upped his support of the 2010 champion during a difficult 2020 campaign. That included the short-lived Team Sydney adventure , as well as the lifeline deal mid-way through the season to grab the fourth seat at Tickford Racing . Despite not testing the Tickford Mustang once before his first race, and effectively learning on the fly across the remainder of the season, Courtney was able to bank 12 Top 10 finishes, including a second at Hidden Valley. While impressive given the circumstances, Adderton is expecting more this time around given Courtney will have a full pre-season under his belt. "We really didn't have a lot of chance to prepare [in 2020]," Adderton said. "I think JC's got a better chance this year. He knows the car. His first test day [last year] was a race, which is always hard. "You want to test the car and get to learn it, but he built up speed. "But it's a big year, and … [Read more...] about Courtney expected to ‘step up’ in second Tickford season
Bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Is Part 1934 Packard, Part Rare Tree
If a tree falls in the woods, will Rolls-Royce turn it into a picnic table? Jack Boyd Smith, Jr. is a billionaire. But unlike so many of his class, his tastes skew not purely toward extravagance but also to the stories behind extravagant things. Two such items are a 1934 Packard Twelve Coupe and a family heirloom – a rocking chair made of koa wood – which serve as the inspiration for the latest member of Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke collection : the Koa Wood Phantom Extended . Designed with input from Smith, this unique long-wheelbase Phantom wears Packard Blue paint, matched to the 1934 Twelve Coupe. Rolls-Royce formulated the shade after Smith, Jr. shipped a fender from his prized pre-war two-door to the Bespoke team in Goodwood. But getting the rich hue on the slab-sided Phantom wasn’t as easy as filling the painting robots at the factory and letting em’ rip. Rolls-Royce went through 40 separate test surfaces before finding a paint formula that … [Read more...] about Bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Is Part 1934 Packard, Part Rare Tree
The Senna saga that Hamilton’s new F1 deal avoids
Just as Hamilton held out in his discussions with Toto Wolff, so Senna went into 1993 without having signed a new McLaren deal with Ron Dennis. When he finally signed the initial contract covered less than a third of the season. Only later would he agree to do the remainder of the races.Throughout that year his participation each weekend was subject to a contractual clause that would keep McLaren’s legal team and accountants on their toes. If the team didn’t pay, Senna wouldn’t play… “I remember it was a million dollars a race!,” recalls then McLaren operations director Martin Whitmarsh. “In 24 and a half years I was at McLaren we were profitable in F1 and our other businesses every single year apart from 1992-'93, when we lost £1.5m, and we were paying Ayrton a million dollars a race…”The delay in putting pen to paper was primarily a result of Honda’s withdrawal from the sport, announced at Monza in September 1992.The … [Read more...] about The Senna saga that Hamilton’s new F1 deal avoids
