Every April, around 40 Mopars from all over the country converge on the arid desert town of Rosamond, CA, fittingly near both NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Flight Center and Edwards Air Force Base. In Rosamond is Willow Springs Motorsports Park, just south of sun-baked Soledad Mountain. It’s the oldest permanent road course in the U.S. and these Mopars have come to tame it. They are here for the annual All Time Racing (ATR) Spring Fling Speed Festival, an open track day ostensibly for Chrysler machinery (other makes apparently show up in dribs and drabs). Held in conjunction with the Chrysler Performance West (CPW) Spring Fling at Van Nuys’ Woodley Park, the ATR Speed Festival is held the Thursday before the CPW car show and swap meet.
