The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is the most powerful production Raptor-branded model in history. With its monstrous 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine under the hood, the vehicle is a proper competitor for the mighty Ram 1500 TRX. There’s a new video featuring the Raptor R we’d like to share with you, showing the performance truck being evaluated on the dyno. The Late Model Restoration (LMR) channel on YouTube took delivery of a brand new 2023 F-150 Raptor R and decided to test it on the dyno right away. The team did a series of runs and the first one was in completely stock form. Before we get to the results, let’s see the factory numbers for the truck first. Classic Mini Cooper With Honda Engine Swap Sounds Sweet On The Dyno
In 1979, the Austin Mini Cooper was available with a range of four-cylinder engines. We aren't sure exactly what the purple Mini in this new Hoonigan video originally had under the hood. But we do know it was neither as big nor as powerful as the Japanese four-pot currently powering this iconic British machine. Specifically, the engine is a 1.6-liter Honda D16 four-pot. It's the single overhead cam version, and yes, it's a VTEC. Per the video, the engine was sourced from Japan and it was chosen for its size, as the D16 fits snugly into the Mini's engine bay without extensive modifications to the car. Even still, this mill uses space in the driver's side wheel well for the alternator. Actually, that's the passenger side, as this is a right-hand-drive Mini. You won't find turbochargers, superchargers, or nitrous on this build. In fact, the engine is said to be completely stock save for individual throttle bodies and a Hondata s300 management system. Power goes to the ground … [Read more...] about Classic Mini Cooper With Honda Engine Swap Sounds Sweet On The Dyno
Tesla Mobile Service Tech Fixes Dead Ford F-150 Raptor Pickup Truck
While servicing an owner's Tesla , a Tesla mobile service technician helped bring a dead Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck back to life too. Now that's what we call service. Tesla mobile service was called out to change a tire on a Model 3 , but the service tech did more than just that. The service tech navigated a tight, steep and twisty driveway to get to the Model 3 so that he could take care of an issue with the tire. However, once there, it turned out there was another car-related problem that required some attention. How young Houston Rockets guards are navigating uncertain playing time
In early January, as the Houston Rockets looked to snap what would become a 13-game losing streak , a sleepy morning shootaround saw a jolt in intensity as assistant coach John Lucas barked out orders during a 3-on-3 drill. Lucas implored Houston's backup bigs to bring more energy as screeners, though largely, his ire was directed at young guards Josh Christopher and TyTy Washington. Lazy entry passes drew Lucas' patented hoarse yell, and breaks between possessions were few and far between. For a pair of players often absent from the Rockets' in-game rotation, these practice reps take on increased importance. "They're not always on the floor, so that's a situation where we can get them in competitive situations," Lucas told Chron.com. "With limited time, we're still working to get them ready for when they're called [upon]." The Rockets are engaging in a bit of a delicate dance as they trudge through Year 3 of their rebuild. General manager Rafael Stone took the prudent … [Read more...] about How young Houston Rockets guards are navigating uncertain playing time
Toyota WEC star Conway relishing Lexus Rolex 24 GTD outing
Listen to this article Conway has joined Vasser Sullivan regulars Ben Barnicoat and Jack Hawksworth at the wheel of the team's #14 Lexus RC F GT3 in the GTD Pro class for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship opener. It marks his first outing in a GT car since he contested an International GT Open round on the now-defunct Valencia street track in 2008, when he was racing in the GP2 Series. While Conway has been a regular at Daytona in recent seasons in the DPi class with the Action Express Cadillac team, the American brand becoming a competitor of Toyota in the WEC this season meant he was forced to find an alternative avenue to return to the Florida venue. "I last drove a GT car back in 2008 on the Valencia street track, in a Dodge Viper," Conway told Motorsport.com. "It’s been so long since then that it’s all new getting back into it. "It came together towards the end of last year. I wanted to do something for Daytona and I got talking to these guys.
