See The Electric Car Nissan Wants To Drive 17,000 Miles From Pole To Pole
Nissan’s new electric vehicle is about to go on an epic adventure. The automaker today revealed the modified Ariya that will make the 17,000-mile trek from the North Pole to the South Pole that starts later this year. It’s been beefed up for the trip, but the company kept the mods to a minimum while showcasing its battery-electric powertrain. The biggest upgrades are its most noticeable – the suspension and tires. Nissan gave the electric crossover a beefier suspension and chunky 39-inch BF Goodrich tires, widening the fenders to accommodate the modified gear. On top, the automaker installed a roof-mounted utility unit that houses a deployable drone. Inside, the automaker integrated an espresso machine to make the mornings out in the wilderness a bit more manageable. Six-Wheeled Rolls-Royce Made From Wood Is A Big, Drivable Toy
The ND - Woodworking Art YouTube channel makes wood look like some sort of magical material that can turn into anything. In the skilled hands of an artist, chunky blocks of wood are assembled and shaved into all sorts of vehicles – from concept cars to tanks. The channel’s latest creation puts a spin on one of the most luxurious brands on sale today – Rolls-Royce. And it’s not just any model. The channel built a drivable, custom six-wheeled version. The build begins modestly, with the floor being cut into shape and reinforced with a metal chassis. The Rolls-Royce slowly comes together, with the axles, electric motor, and steering rack installed next. The body is slowly assembled with blocks of wood that need to be cut and shaved into shape. The wood’s hard, jagged edges slowly turn into soft curves and gentle rolls, with the car’s silhouette shifting to resemble that of a modern Rolls-Royce. The upright hood, commanding fenders, and flat hood are pretty noticeable, and the … [Read more...] about Six-Wheeled Rolls-Royce Made From Wood Is A Big, Drivable Toy
Rare 1971 De Tomaso Pantera Could Be The Earliest Model In Existence
Having the oldest known example of a car is something few enthusiasts experience, but that appears to be the case with this yellow 1971 De Tomaso Pantera. That was the first year of production for the Ford-powered, mid-engine exotic, and with a VIN ending in 1006, it could well be the oldest Pantera still alive. And it's for sale in Florida with an asking price of $250,000. Claiming a car is the earliest or first of a run is always tricky, but there's compelling evidence supporting this Pantera owner. According to its listing on eBay , the car is the sixth one built in total, including prototypes. The seller says the first three were display prototypes with no engines. Numbers four and five were reportedly used for crash testing. None of these are known to exist, which takes us to the yellow car here with its VIN ending in 1006. The seller says there's documentation with the car going all the way back to its first owner in Italy, as well as the original delivery book. … [Read more...] about Rare 1971 De Tomaso Pantera Could Be The Earliest Model In Existence
