2021 Hyundai Bayon Revealed With Quirky Styling And Spacious Interior

· March 2, 2021 ·

The i20 supermini gets a crossover makeover with eccentric styling. While we're patiently waiting for Hyundai to dip its toes into the pickup truck and performance segments with the Santa Cruz and that mid-engined sports car , the Asian brand is rolling out yet another crossover. Contrary to reports, the new Bayon is not actually significantly smaller than the Kona as the two have similar footprints. At 4.18 meters (164.5 inches) long, 1.77 meters (69.7 inches) wide, and 1.49 meters (58.6 inches) tall, the subcompact crossover is only a bit shorter than the facelifted Kona (4.21 meters / 165.9 inches) while being a little bit narrower and with a lower roofline. The wheelbase measures 2.58 meters (101.5 inches), a tad shorter than the Kona's, while the cargo capacity stands at 411 liters (14.5 cubic feet) or 1,205 liters (42.5 cubic feet) once you fold the rear seats. The load volume trumps the Kona with or without the bench down. Length Width Height … [Read more...] about 2021 Hyundai Bayon Revealed With Quirky Styling And Spacious Interior

Porsche’s Stake In Rimac Could Increase In Exchange For Bugatti

· March 2, 2021 ·

It'll grow to "nowhere near to 50 percent" though. Volkswagen Group’s plans to find a new direction of evolution for Bugatti are gaining speed as reports suggest the French company could be involved in a deal with Rimac . In February, it was reported that a final decision should be taken by the middle of 2021 , and now we have more preliminary details to share. In a recent interview with Automobilwoche , a sister publication of Automotive News Europe , Mate Rimac, CEO and founder of the Croatian manufacturer, confirmed his company is in talks with Porsche for a strategic investment that should be completed in the next two to three months. Rimac is looking to raise between $157 million and $181 million. Automotive News was quick to report Porsche’s stake in the electric car manufacturer could increase to “almost half” in a potential deal that could include the transfer of Bugatti to Rimac. However, Mate Rimac made a quick response to address the situation using … [Read more...] about Porsche’s Stake In Rimac Could Increase In Exchange For Bugatti

Baguette: No qualms about being ‘Cerumo of Honda’

· March 2, 2021 ·

Baguette and Tsukakoshi, who share the #17 Honda NSX-GT again in 2021, are 35 and 34 years old respectively and can boast a combined 19 seasons of GT500 experience. By contrast, three of Honda's other top class line-ups - Team Kunimitsu, ARTA and Nakajima Racing - have one driver with two seasons or less of top-class experience, and Team Mugen features rookie Toshiki Oyu alongside second-year driver Ukyo Sasahara. However, Baguette says that he and Tsukakoshi being the only 'all-veteran' driver pairing in the Honda stable has its benefits, likening their situation to that of vastly experienced Cerumo Toyota duo Hiroaki Ishiura and Yuji Tachikawa. "Of course I believe myself and Koudai can beat anybody else out there, and if you don’t think like that it’s better not to race," Baguette told Motorsport.com. "But Honda has done a strong job on the line-ups for the Bridgestone-tyre cars. All six drivers are really strong. "In 2019 one of our strengths was qualifying speed, … [Read more...] about Baguette: No qualms about being ‘Cerumo of Honda’

· August 31, 2015 ·

The 2015 GT Asia Series is at the mid-point of the season heading into Sepang where the series regulars will face a new challenge at the popular Malaysian circuit, the series’ first ever endurance round, an event which not only pushes many of the teams beyond the 60-minute races they are used to, but also comes with a double-points championship advantage!
