This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 12 PHILADELPHIA (AP) — With the Giants' season in the balance, coach Brian Daboll punted on a comeback. Yes, New York was down 21 points early in the fourth quarter, and while its divisional playoff game against Philadelphia seemed out of reach, wilder rallies have happened in the postseason. At the Eagles 42-yard-line, facing fourth-and-6 with 13:21 left, Daboll decided against going for a first down. Jamie Gillan punted. And the Giants got the boot Saturday from the playoffs. The NFC East wild-card team that was one of the surprises of the season trailed 28-0 at halftime and could never get going against the top-seeded Eagles. Daniel Jones threw for just 135 yards and the Giants fell 38-7, losing to their division rivals for the third time this season. “Crash-landing in the playoffs,” Daboll said. Wizards trade former lottery pick Rui Hachimura to Lakers

January 23, 2023 by www.chron.com Leave a Comment

The Washington Wizards have traded forward Rui Hachimura to the Los Angeles Lakers for a package of draft picks, multiple people with knowledge of the deal said Monday. The Lakers will send three future second-round picks and guard Kendrick Nunn to Washington for Hachimura. The picks include a 2023 pick via Chicago, the Lakers' own 2029 pick and whichever is the least favorable second rounder between the Wizards and Lakers in 2028. The 24-year-old Hachimura said Saturday that he had "no comment" regarding recent trade speculation, and that he "just want[ed] to be somewhere that wants me as a basketball player." Hachimura did not practice with the Wizards on Monday due to an excused personal absence, Coach Wes Unseld Jr. said. Hachimura, a 2019 lottery pick, has struggled to fully blossom during his four seasons with the Wizards. After missing nearly half of last season due to a personal leave, Hachimura was moved to a bench role this season. He is averaging 13 points, 4.3 … [Read more...] about Wizards trade former lottery pick Rui Hachimura to Lakers

How F1’s bigger wheels have impacted car designs

January 23, 2023 by www.motorsport.com Leave a Comment

Listen to this article But some areas of the cars required a deeper analysis to understand their implications – with perhaps one of the biggest being the shift in size of wheel rims from 13 to 18-inches. This change created a knock-on effect to the design of several other components, with the FIA making efforts to clamp down on the use of tricks that teams had used in the past to better manage airflow in this area. Firstly, it’s worth noting that teams had been finding pockets of performance from the design of their wheel rims for some time now. Not only was the number, shape and positioning of the spokes critical to the rim’s structural integrity, but these elements were also being optimised for heat dissipation. Add to this a clear intent by the teams to help mitigate heat transfer from the brakes to the tyre’s bulk temperature via the wheel rim, thanks to the use of knurling and fins on the rim’s surface, and you can see how their abilities might be quashed by … [Read more...] about How F1’s bigger wheels have impacted car designs

Russell Westbrook scored 24 for the Lakers, who never pulled away in another poor defensive game, but also set a franchise record by committing just two turnovers. James' brilliance in the 100th 40-point outing of his career — including the postseason — was just enough to hold off Houston. He scored 20 points in the fourth quarter, going 9 for 9 at the free throw line. James scored his 38,000th career point Sunday night in a one-point loss to Philadelphia, and he showed no ill effects while playing in back-to-back games despite the sore left ankle that has … [Read more...] about LeBron drops 48, Lakers beat Rockets 140-132 to snap skid
