TKM is all set to enter the highly competitive mid-size sedan segment with the Toyota Yaris. According to ET Auto, bookings for the car will commence from April 23 with deliveries set to begin April 24 onwards. Powering the Toyota Yaris is a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission sending power to the front wheels. This naturally aspirated unit produces 107 hp and 140 Nm of torque. There will be no diesel engine option at the time of launch. In fact, a diesel variant is unlikely to ever be a part of the Vios lineup. Kali ini giliran Toyota Yaris Ativ TRD, sedan segmen-B yang disolek oleh Toyota Racing Development, sekaligus memberikan bayangan ia kemungkinan wajah Vios TRD kelak iaitu bagi model masa akan datang. Yaris Ativ dilancarkan di Thai pada Ogos 2017 dengan lima varian – J Eco, J, E, G dan S – dengan yang paling sporty adalah S. Walau bagaimana pun tiada versi TRD ditawarkan setakat ini. Bagi Yariz Ativ TRD yang ditawarkan dengan unit terhad, dijual oleh pengedar Toyota dalam tempoh dua bulan, selepas itu bahagian yang terlibat akan dijual secara berasingan. You’ve seen an earlier live gallery post on the Toyota Yaris Ativ, which is the next-generation Vios in Thai eco car spec. Now here’s the Toyota Yaris Ativ TRD, the B-segment sedan dressed up in Toyota Racing Development branded parts. This is how a future Vios TRD might look like. The Yaris Ativ was launched here in August 2017 in five variants – J Eco, J, E, G and S – the sportiest being the S. There’s been no TRD version available till now. Word is that limited units of the fully-optioned Yaris Ativ TRD as seen here will be sold by Toyota dealers for two months – after that, the parts will be widely available separately and for retrofitting. The Yaris Ativ in its S trim already gets a slim red lip, but the TRD style adds one lower, and much thicker red accent. With an encouraging resurgence in motorsports, Toyota Gazoo Racing has announced its arrival in Malaysia with the launch of the Vios Challenge one-make race series at the Sepang International Circuit today. The Vios Challenge will be the feature event at the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Racing Festival, a weekend-long carnival set to take place in Penang, Johor and twice in Kuala Lumpur. Each of the four events of the race series will take place at specially prepared street circuits in the aforementioned locations. The Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) along with consultants from Toyota will ensure the circuits are safe yet exciting for spectators, and all regulations are inscribed according to FIA rules.
