I really enjoyed James Mangold’s retelling of the Ford v Ferrari story , in which Christian Bale utterly nails the grouchy-but-brilliant Ken Miles and Matt Damon uses his considerable acting talent to counter his physical deficiency playing larger-than-life Texan Carroll Shelby. The tale ends, of course, (spoiler alert!) with Miles’s sad demise testing the J-car at Riverside California. Read Also: Opinion: Why the director of Ford v Ferrari took a major risk But endings are often just the beginning, especially in Hollywood. In his exclusive interview with our David Malsher, Bale thought Le Mans ’66 was “one of the best scripts I’ve ever read” when he first saw it in 2011. Well, Christian, although you’re out of the casting frame for the sequel for obvious reasons, how about this plotline… Christian Bale Photo by: 20th Century Fox Following Miles’s death, the J-Car project is scrapped in favor of a new GT40, the Mk IV. designed and built (unlike the ’66 … [Read more...] about Ford v Ferrari: Why there needs to be a Le Mans 1966 sequel

Koenigsegg Agera RSR unveiled for Japan
As if the 'regular' Agera RS wasn't already a sight to behold. It was only last week when we saw the very first Agera RS delivered in Europe and now Koenigsegg is showing off two more cars, this time around exclusively for Japan. The duo is a bit more special than the regular model as it comes with several tweaks to make it worthy of the newly attributed ‘Agera RSR’ moniker. Chassis number 122 is painted in turquoise blue and it’s sitting pretty alongside the black car featuring chassis #123, with a third vehicle featuring a white hue and chassis #124 to be officially unveiled soon. All three have been commissioned by Koenigsegg Japan and are part of the Agera RS ’ total production run of 25 units which have all been sold already. The production run will come to an end by late this year, with final deliveries to take place in 2017. One:1 and it also has a slightly different rear wing which was offered as optional equipment on the Agera RS. Being a high-end product, … [Read more...] about Koenigsegg Agera RSR unveiled for Japan
Koenigsegg puts its horsepower on display in Geneva
More than 4,000 worth of it, in fact. The Koenigsegg stand at this year’s Geneva Motor Show has no shortage of power. With a pair of Regeras and a custom Agera RS, it comes out to 4,360 horsepower (3,251 kilowatts) in total… and that’s between just three cars. The two Regeras on display are the first customer cars to come from the factory in Angelholm, Sweden following the introduction of the prototype last year. The first car wears a simple, but still stunning green carbon fiber finish that’s a nod to the iconic color, British Racing Green. The cabin, meanwhile, is coated in a light Saddle Brown leather with a basket weave texture that extends from the seats, to the door panels, to the dash. Along with plenty of power, the two supercars come pre-loaded with a number of other features, including things like like six-way electronically adjustable seats, Apple CarPlay , two USB charging ports, Bird’s Eye View parking assistance, and a unique Autoskin system … [Read more...] about Koenigsegg puts its horsepower on display in Geneva
Koenigsegg will have more than 4,000 hp on display in Geneva
Two Regeras, a custom Agera RS, and 4,360 horsepower in total. The Koenigsegg Regera is a tour de force. Under the hood is a 1,500-horsepower (1,118-kilowatt) biturbo V8 aided by a trio of electric motors giving it the highest output ever in a production hybrid. At the Geneva Motor Show , the Swedish automaker will roll out its first two production models. The first Regera that will be ever be delivered is the handsome green example you see below. The exterior finish is a nod to the classic British Racing Green, and is light enough to allow the weave of the carbon fiber body panels to shine through – as they should. The second customer Regera that will be on display wears a candy apple red exterior with a clear carbon fiber centerpiece and a matching red hood stripe (pictured below). The side air intakes are finished in exposed carbon, while the interior is covered in black leather with highlights of Lingonberry. This one also wears the optional Koenigsegg … [Read more...] about Koenigsegg will have more than 4,000 hp on display in Geneva
