Watch As Hong Kong Police Intercept 45 Supercars For Street Racing
You need to see this. We’re no strangers to street racing here in the United States. It’s an unfortunate eventuality of those wanting to live the Fast and Furious fantasy in the real world. However, no area is suffering from the dangerous past time more than Hong Kong, where 45 vehicles were recently intercepted on multiple reports of suspected street racing and illegal modification. Instead of moving the vehicles to an impound lot, the local authorities opted to simply block off a busy thoroughfare and park them there. We can’t be certain whether it was a flex to send a message – or simply the lack of a proportionately sized parking lot – but images of the fleet have blown up the internet. British GP boss “cautiously optimistic” over fans return
The British government unveiled its road map for easing the current lockdown measures earlier this week, which included plans for spectators to attend live sporting events by the summer. Prime Minister Boris Johnson told parliament that “the turnstiles of our sports stadia will once again rotate” as he outlined the blueprint for fans to return to the grandstands. Under the proposals, large outdoor seated venues will be permitted to allow up to 10,000 fans or 25% of the total seat capacity - whichever is lower - from 17 May. This could then be increased as early as 21 June, leading to suggestions that many of the UK’s major summer sports events could enjoy capacity crowds amid the ongoing vaccination campaign and falling COVID-19 case numbers. The British Grand Prix ran behind closed doors in 2020, and while the race would be in line to benefit from the government measures on spectator access for 2021, managing director Stuart Pringle remained cautious in his messaging. … [Read more...] about British GP boss “cautiously optimistic” over fans return
Perseverance Rover Honors All Mars Rovers With Hilarious Easter Egg
There are all kinds of fun things hidden on the rover. We interrupt your regularly scheduled dose of Earth-based car news to bring you an interplanetary update. We're not talking about Elon Musk's space-exploring Tesla Roadster , which is presently much closer to Earth than Mars. NASA's Perseverance Rover made a spectacular landing on the Red Planet last week, and as pictures come rolling in by the thousands, we're discovering pseudo-secret fun features on this car-sized Martain explorer. NASA said there were all kinds of Easter eggs hidden on Perseverance, but perhaps the coolest is a small family portrait of Mars rovers currently on the planet's surface. Zooming in on some of NASA's images showing the top of the rover, we see a small black plate with blocky renditions of five rovers. Starting on the left, the smallest rover is Sojourner which landed on the Martian surface back in 1997 as part of the Pathfinder mission. The next two rovers look identical because … [Read more...] about Perseverance Rover Honors All Mars Rovers With Hilarious Easter Egg
