Three minutes of explosions and CGI galore. Oh, and there's a submarine. Officially called “The Fate of the Furious,” the eighth installment in blockbuster movie franchise seems to have a twist in the story as Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is apparently betraying his family, but surely there’s a logical explanation for that and it has something to do with Cipher (Charlize Theron). Speaking of the word “family,” it’s prominently used throughout the entire trailer, but that’s hardly surprising. As you’ve come to expect, lots of the scenes heavily rely on CGI, including the one with the wrecking ball obliterating several cars. The trailer also shows Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) hanging out with Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in jail throwing punches and causing what seems to be a riot. Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) is back and appears to be the man in charge of the team trying to take down the bad guys. Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) are up … [Read more...] about The Fate of the Furious trailer portrays Dom as the bad guy

Vettel’s driving style not as extreme as Perez – Aston Martin
Four-time F1 world champion Vettel has joined the rebranded Aston Martin team for 2021 following a difficult final season with Ferrari, replacing Perez. Vettel finished a lowly 13th in the championship for Ferrari, scoring just one podium and barely one-third of teammate Charles Leclerc's points total. Recurring errors by Vettel in recent years led to questions about how much Ferrari's cars suited his driving style, which has been said to be dependent on a stable rear end. But Aston Martin technical director Andrew Green said there were zero concerns about accommodating Vettel with its new AMR21 car, believing his driving style is not as extreme as that of Perez. "Yes, [Vettel] does have his own personal driving style, but that's no different to the driving styles that we've seen from other drivers," Green said. "I'd say [it's] not as extreme as the driver he is replacing, who had a very extreme driving style which was very difficult to get right at all tracks. It … [Read more...] about Vettel’s driving style not as extreme as Perez – Aston Martin
F1 to stop using single-use plastic bottles in 2021
As part of F1's long-term sustainability push, F1 has outlined some key targets that it wants to achieve alongside an effort to become carbon neutral from 2030. These include a vision for F1 events to be rid totally of single-use plastic and to ensure that 100% of all waste is reused, recycled or composted. While grand prix racing's chiefs have laid out a 2025 deadline to achieve that, F1 has elected to make a big step this year with efforts to dramatically cut back on its own single-use plastic bottles in the paddock. From the first test in Bahrain this weekend, and for all grands prix this year, F1's official staff will not be able to use single-use plastic bottles. Instead, F1 has arranged for more water refill stations around the Bahrain circuit, paddock, offices and garages to all personnel can refill any water containers. Furthermore, any remote cameramen and other staff working out on track will be provided with camelback pouches that contain enough water … [Read more...] about F1 to stop using single-use plastic bottles in 2021
Singer ACS Heads Back To Drawing Board After Porsche Protests Design
The bold Porsche branding didn’t go unnoticed in Germany. Singer Vehicle Design is taking its All-Terrain Competition Study (ACS) back to the drawing board after Porsche protested its design. A new CarScoops report has discovered that Porsche wasn’t pleased with Singer using the large “Porsche” lettering on the car. The publication earlier discovered that Singer had removed all traces of the car from its website and Facebook page. Porsche told the publication that it’s “glad to have a growing community” of enthusiasts; however, the company also noted that it has a “responsibility” to its customers to guarantee its products are “clearly and easily identified.” According to the report, it’s unclear if the design dispute is calling into question the molded Porsche side sills, the Porsche lettering graphics, or both. Singer has yet to respond to CarScoop’s enquiries for comment and clarification. Pol Espargaro: Not knowing limit of Honda is “stressful”
The six-time MotoGP podium finisher made his debut on the RC213V on Saturday in Qatar, and made a lap time improvement of 1.2 seconds on Sunday to 12th with a 1m54.673s. Espargaro noted on Saturday that both the KTM he rode for four years and the Honda are similar in terms handling – but felt they were “too different” to directly compare – and this has meant he hasn’t had to totally readapt his riding style to the RC213V. However, he admits he still has “many things” to learn about the Honda and says the fact he hasn’t crashed yet shows the margin to improve is there.
