Even Hummer EV test vehicles can have some fun. General Motors isn’t shying away from electric vehicles. Last month, the automotive giant announced it would stop selling gas-powered vehicles by 2035 . That’s 14 years away, though GM is planting the seeds for success now with products like the GMC Hummer EV , which the company has been heavily advertising. The Hummer made an appearance in the company’s 2021 Super Bowl, and for Fat Tuesday , the pickup is providing the public with powdered donuts. These aren’t the edible kind, though if you do too many of them in an empty parking lot, you’re still likely to draw the attention of the police. GMC posted on Facebook a short video of the all-electric pickup truck sliding around an empty parking doing donuts in some freshly fallen snow. Ford's CEO predicts electrified vehicle sales will exceed those of internal combustion engines in the next 15 years Ford is kicking off the new year be announcing seven new electrified vehicles that the Blue Oval plans to introduce in the next five years. While the hybrid versions of the Mustang and F-150 will be the heavy hitters of the group, they’ll be just part of the $4.5 billion investment in electrified vehicles in the near future. The firm will also develop wireless charging technology that reportedly “makes recharging an electric vehicle as easy as pulling into a parking spot" and EV fleet management technology. “Our investments and expanding lineup reflect our view that global offerings of electrified vehicles will exceed gasoline-powered vehicles within the next 15 years,” said Ford President and CEO Mark Fields. Lebron calls the Hummer EV a 'beast.' You might remember in January when Lebron James released a video of him checking out the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 . Now, it's possible to see that from another perspective because GMC now has a clip showing him checking out the same pearl-colored example of the upcoming electric pickup. James seems very impressed with the new Hummer. He calls it a "beast" and describes it as "so futuristic but so bold at the same time." James even gets to drive the truck but only as far as leaving the garage and into the driveway, since this is a pre-production vehicle. Now, following five years of Bolt sales, Chevy has totally revamped the beloved EV for 2021 – and it now comes in two sizes. The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV (the slightly larger model) debuted today with more modern looks, updated interiors, and up to 259 miles (416 kilometers) of range in the standard model. The larger Bolt EUV, meanwhile, offers 250 miles (402 km) of maximum range. Both of these models will enter production sometime this spring before going on sale in the summer. What is basically a more affordable version of the Revero family of models looks a lot like the original Fisker Karma designed by Henrik Fisker, upon which the Revero is based. The GS-6 consists of two models - the standard GS-6 and the GSe-6. While the two cars look quite familiar, the big news is under the skin. There, the GSe-6 gets an all-electric powertrain, making it the company’s first-ever zero-emission vehicle. It will go on sale by the end of this year with different battery packages available - from 85 kWh up to 105 kWh. Power will be provided by two electric motors mounted on the rear axle. Unfortunately, no power and range figures were released but at least we know the car will start at $79,900 before the federal tax credit.
