YouTubeNM2255 Car HD Videos From the factory, the Nissan GT-R doesn't make for a good drift car. It's all-wheel drive, and pretty heavy. But both of those things have been fixed with this car. Oh, and the power's been doubled. This is Steve Biagioni's Liberty Walk wide-body GT-R drift car, which has been converted to rear-wheel drive and equipped with a 454-cubic inch LS Chevy V8 with a massive Garrett GTX4718R turbocharger. It now makes 1200 horsepower, and melts tires for breakfast. Listen for yourself. Welcome to Better Than Coffee, your daily dose of car sounds designed to help you kick that caffeine habit. … [Read more...] about Listen to This 1200-HP LS-Swapped Nissan GT-R Drift Car Get Sideways

Building a drift car requires a lot of money, time and patience and, most importantly, a proper rear-wheel drive machine to start with. But what would you say to a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG heavily converted for drifting? We kid you not, an Oakland resident did just that. As you can imagine, his ride hides a lot of modifications beneath the body panels. Since there’s not exactly a market for E-Class drift cars, its owner had to fabricate and improvise a lot, and was helped by his buddy, who happens to be the CEO of a company specialized in selling car parts for European models. Equipped with a hydraulic handbrake, gearshift buttons mounted on the Momo steering wheel, KW suspension, larger limited-slip differential and a lot of other improvised, adapted or hand-built parts, this E55 AMG is one serious machine. One of the coolest builds of recent years is Yoichi Imamura’s Lexus LFA drift car with a Toyota NASCAR V8 under the hood. We saw it test and run a few events back in 2015 and 2016, though it never became the guy’s main car. Now we have a better idea of why: This thing was as expensive as you’d think and a pain to get to work. Imamura is a legend in drifting, one of the most successful drivers in the sport’s history with multiple D1GP championships to his name, a big name at the top of the sport and still liked by old school heads who adore his OG Corolla. He also spent much of his career balancing driving with being a florist. Cool dude. In any case, Video Option (the official media of D1GP) put out a little video the other day detailing how this thing got built, and how it wasn’t easy. I’ll get it out of the way that when the car works, it looks absolutely unhinged. The V8 absolutely howls in a way that makes you not miss the old V10 (swapped out … [Read more...] about Building the NASCAR-Powered Lexus LFA Drift Car Wasn’t Easy
Kia has taken the veils off the Kia Forte Drift Car at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, which was developed in partnership with Red Bull. The donor car for the project is the latest Forte in EX guise, but it loses the factory-fitted 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated engine for the Stinger GT‘s 3.3 litre twin-turbo V6 unit. Through some tricky engineering, the engine now sits longitudinally (as opposed to the Forte’s transverse origins), allowing power to be transferred to the rear axle for drifting. The Forte Drift Car effectively becomes a 375-horsepower rear-wheel drive beast, complete with a custom intake manifold, six-speed sequential transmission, quick change rear differential and a hybrid drift/grip suspension. It also features a hydraulic rear hand brake, custom wide body aerodynamic kit and a roll cage. Alongside the tyre-shredding Forte is the 2019 Kia Forte Federation, which has been outfitted with parts from leading … [Read more...] about Kia Forte Drift Car unveiled with Stinger GT’s 3.3L V6!
As much as Forza Motorsport 7 loves lap times, the game isn’t all about nailing the perfect lap. Neither, obviously, is its jump-happy counterpart, Forza Horizon 4. The Formula Drift Car Pack is soon coming to both games and you’ll be able to get sideways to your heart’s content. Full disclosure: I have always hated the drifting activities in these games. I was never able to keep the drifting going long enough before the inevitable oversteer flipped me around and I lost all the skill points. But maybe you love the drifting and this is great news for you. There will apparently be seven cars included in the pack. They are: Andy Hateley’s BMW E30 325i with a supercharged LS V8 Alec Hohnadell’s Nissan 240SX with a supercharged LS V8 Corey Hosford’s twin-turbo Nissan 240SX Matt Field’s supercharged Nissan 240SX Dean Kearney’s twin-turbo Dodge Viper SRT10 Justin Pawlak’s Roush Racing, supercharged Ford Mustang Josh Robinson’s HSV … [Read more...] about Earn All the Skill Points in Forza with the Formula Drift Car Pack
