You have to admit Porsche’s marketing staff gets it right. Their Top 5 series is among the best automotive content ever created. In this week’s upload, we found a heavy-hitting email in our inbox. Their press release compiled the fastest Porsche production models of all time, so let’s see how they rank. 5. 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo S. What can be better than a twin-turbo 580 horsepower 911? If you weren’t lucky enough to get the 607 hp Exclusive Series 911 Turbo S, you will have 580 horsepower to all wheels. 0 to 60 mph: 2.8 seconds. Top Speed: 205 mph. 4. Porsche Carrera GT Having a reputation as unforgiving, the Carrera GT is a brutal F1 car for the street. The carbon ceramic clutch is basically an on/off switch. You will stall it out a few times at the beginning, ask me how I know. But once you are moving, the beechwood shifter and the carbon fiber chassis are still on-par with current supercars. 0 to 60 mph: 3.5 seconds. Top Speed: 207 mph. 3. … [Read more...] about Fastest Porsche: Which Model Is It?

The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS hardtop and Boxster GTS convertible are high-performance variants of the German automaker’s compact mid-engined sports cars. It’s safe to assume they’ll both be fun to drive, but we’re finding out for ourselves this week. So what do you want to know? We’ll get to spend a little time with both the Cayman and Boxster on the roads of Northern California, hopefully with both PDK automatic and traditional three-pedal manual transmissions, too. Yes, a stick is still the 718 GTS’s standard transmission. And that’s hooked up to a 2.5-liter flat-four cylinder engine which is turbocharged and, according to Porsche, good for 365 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque. But apparently if you do order the PDK, that torque figure moves up to 317 lb-ft. The new GTS is rated to make 15 HP more than a Cayman S, and 35 more than the outgoing GTS. Porsche promises that the fastest version of the 718 GTS, a PDK car with a few more … [Read more...] about What Do You Want To Know About The 2018 Porsche 718 GTS Cayman And Boxster?
Mercedes-AMG is planning on setting a new lap record on the Nurburgring. But before that happens, its Coupe sibling is getting all the attention on the Sachsenring, turning into the fastest SUV out there. With its aggressive styling that would not allow it to be ignored and with a temperament that turns heads, the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe has hit the racetrack. In a video posted on YouTube by AutoBild, the Coupe SUV completed the 3.8-kilometer (2.3-mile) run in only 1:37:89. The figures make it outpace the performance-focused Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (1:38:32) by almost one second and bring it inches closer to its mid-size sedan sibling, the C63 Coupe, which stopped the clock at 1:37:35. Powered by the company’s already famous 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe runs from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and hits an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 280 km/h (174 mph) with the optional AMG … [Read more...] about The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe is the fastest SUV on the Sachsenring
The newly refreshed 911 GT3 RS has been testing vigorously this past month during industry test pool sessions at the Nurburgring, and now, it seems like the Porsche is laying down some seriously competitive lap times. According to 'Ring regular Dale Lomas of Bridge to Gantry, the RS may have already set a time under seven minutes. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below According to Lomas's sources positioned at the start/finish line earlier today, Porsche was able to lay down three fast laps, all of which fell under the seven-minute mark, the fastest of which was a 6:56. For some context, that's about one second faster than Porsche's 918 Spyder hypercar, but roughly nine seconds slower than the GT3's turbocharged sibling, the GT2 RS. It's worth noting that Porsche's GT car boss, Andreas Preuninger, told us at the launch of the new GT3 RS that the car would run "at least" ten seconds quicker than its predecessor, which lapped the Nordschliefe in around 7:20. When reached for comment … [Read more...] about The New Porsche 911 GT3 RS May Have Set a Sub-Seven Minute ‘Ring Time
Tweet TweetAC Schnitzer is a very good German tuner, one of those who specialize in BMW products. Every now and then they do play around with other sorts of cars but they don’t stray too far. Also from the BMW family, AC Schnitzer chose to play around with the cute and cuddly British revival of the Mini Cooper. What they wound up doing to the fashionable little hatchback almost defies belief once you hear the figures and list of achievements their New Eagle Concept has under its belt. Being the fastest of all Minis isn’t that impressive an achievement, or is it? Under the bonnet of the AC Schnitzer New Eagle Concept there’s a 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that’s not unlike the JCW Mini’s powerplant. In actuality, the German tuner used the same engine as the JCW Mini but you can’t really admit to it when you consider all the modifications and upgrades it’s been given. The end result is a Mini with 260 horsepower for a kick off. In … [Read more...] about The AC Schnitzer New Eagle Concept is the fastest Mini around
