Emmo Fittipaldi Jr to make car racing debut in Danish F4

· March 18, 2021 ·

Fittipaldi – the son of the two-time Formula 1 world champion and Indy 500 winner of the same name – turned 14-years old this month. That makes him eligible for the Danish series, which allows you to race at 14 as long as you become 15 within a year of the season starting. He has been racing in European karting so far this year, as a part of the Alfa Romeo F1 team’s talent program, Sauber Academy. “I look forward to getting my formula car debut and getting to know the Danish racetracks,” said Fittipaldi Jr, who tested an F4 car at Homestead-Miami Speedway last year. “Even though I do not much about Denmark, the series and tracks, I believe that this is a great opportunity to learn a lot from the Scandinavian drivers, and I look very much forward to that.” Read Also: Emerson Fittipaldi Jr makes F4 test debut at Homestead Emmo Fittipaldi Jr. lands major sponsor deal, aged 12 The Fittipaldi family has relocated to Italy from Miami, USA, this year as ‘Little … [Read more...] about Emmo Fittipaldi Jr to make car racing debut in Danish F4

Is Mercedes in trouble or is it part of a plan?

· March 23, 2021 ·

There are all manner of variables unknown to anyone but the teams themselves, and that can throw a real spanner in the works of even the most educated of guesses. Nonetheless, speculation on who sits where in the pecking order is always fascinating, and none more so this year that what is really up with Mercedes and its W12. As seven-time champion, it was always going to be the team thrust into the spotlight during the pre-season test, as it has the furthest to fall if anything goes wrong. It is also the team that has the most to lose by any rule change, of which it has had a few thrown at it in recent years. Read Also: Red Bull would be "stupid" to think it's ahead of Mercedes Mercedes: No immediate answers for "weak" W12 rear end But where it genuinely stacks up against main rival Red Bull, which won the season finale in Abu Dhabi last year, has been hard to gauge because both teams have been plotting different paths In reality, Mercedes and Red Bull … [Read more...] about Is Mercedes in trouble or is it part of a plan?

Hamilton will continue to kneel in F1 2021

· March 25, 2021 ·

This year, F1 will again hold a pre-race moment for drivers to express their personal views following the ceremony's introduction in 2020 in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests that followed the killing of George Floyd. A change has been made ahead of the 2021 season , with the moment no longer being held on a banner displaying the words 'End Racism' and instead taking place on one highlighting F1's 'We Race as One' initiative. When asked about what he intends to do this year regarding protesting against racism and continuing to highlight the need to improve diversity in motorsport, Hamilton said: "I plan to continue to take the knee. "Because I think what's really important is when young children are watching what we're doing here in this sport. "And when they see us take the knee, they will sit and ask their parents or their teachers, 'Why are they doing that? What are they taking the knee for?' "It sparks an uncomfortable conversation. It means … [Read more...] about Hamilton will continue to kneel in F1 2021

Why Hamilton’s taken action on human rights

· March 28, 2021 ·

As a globally known personality, the world champion's words carry weight, and he's been granted the opportunity to use his fame for good. To his credit he has consistently done exactly that – and this week in Bahrain his focus has turned to human rights. The sport travels to several countries where the subject is an issue for campaigners. It's inevitable that as a major international event a Grand Prix attracts attention, and generates accusations of "sportswashing." The Bahrain GP has been the subject of that attention for many years, even before the protests in the country that led to the cancellation of the 2011 race. Back then Hamilton drove for McLaren – a team part-owned by Bahraini interests – and while he has always been honest inevitably he was wary about expressing strong personal views on potentially contentious subjects. Since then, he's got older and matured as a human being. He's grown into the role of spirited campaigner on many important subjects. … [Read more...] about Why Hamilton’s taken action on human rights

Primary sponsor revealed for De Silvestro in Indy 500

· April 1, 2021 ·

Rocket Pro TPO, the division of Rocket Mortgage which works exclusively with independent mortgage brokers, will serve as primary sponsor of the #16 entry, which is female-owned, female-driven and largely female-crewed. The chassis is the former Juncos Racing car driven by Kyle Kaiser in 2019, and is being prepped by Team Penske. “Having Rocket Pro TPO come onboard as our primary sponsor for this year’s Indy 500 is a perfect partnership,” said Beth Paretta, CEO and team principal of Paretta Autosport. “We are both huge proponents of highlighting the power of women, while also using technology and speed to be the best at what we do. “I cannot wait for what we will be able to accomplish as a team – both on and off the track.” Together, Rocket Pro TPO, Paretta and De Silvestro will partner on the ‘Rocket Accelerator’ multimedia campaign. The group will use unique and innovative ways to amplify women in the mortgage lending and racing spaces by showcasing female leaders who … [Read more...] about Primary sponsor revealed for De Silvestro in Indy 500
