Pixar will use the public display to drum up interest in the forthcoming movie. In addition to a wealth of concept and show cars, the 2017 Detroit Auto Show will also play host to at least one movie-star car. Pixar Animation Studios announced today that it will hold a press conference ahead of the Detroit show’s start to provide an early peek at Cars 3 and to introduce a life-size version of one of the cars from the upcoming movie. In addition to the press conference, Pixar plans to establish a Cars -themed display on the auto show floor that will be on display through the show’s press, industry, and public days. Jackson Storm is the new phenom in racing, and Lightning McQueen isn't necessarily ready for the challenge. After misses like Finding Dory and The Good Dinosaur , Pixar’s glittering reputation is starting to lose a little of its luster, but the latest trailer for Cars 3 suggests the animation studio has a winner on the way this summer. The latest clip largely focuses on Jackson Storm, the antagonist in the new movie, and Lightning McQueen’s efforts to keep up his speed against younger competition. We should know a lot more when Cars 3 premieres in the United States on June 16. The new trailer offers a little more opportunity to see on track action, but it largely uses the same shots from earlier clips promoting the movie. Embodying the pure definition of an evolutionary styling, the overhauled R8 has received a familiar singleframe front grille with a honeycomb pattern flanked by standard flat LED headlights or optional laser lighting clusters which double the range to 600 meters. The side profile shows curved contours and a prominent shoulder line interconnecting the wheels and also dividing the side blades in two which according to Audi makes the car look longer and more dynamic.
