The upcoming season is set to mark the start of an exciting new era for the University of Houston football team, as the Cougars head to the Big 12 after years as one of the nation's top Group of Five programs. But on Wednesday, it was the team's recruiting efforts that stirred a buzz among the UH faithful. As the late National Signing Day unfolded across the college football landscape, Houston secured a committment from one of the highest-ranked signees in program history. Mikal Harrison-Pilot, a four-star prospect out of Temple High School (Texas) who is listed by recruiting services as an athlete but is expected to be a receiver at UH, signed his national letter of intent to play for the Cougars on Wednesday. Mercedes’ new reserve driver Mick Schumacher will also be made available to their customer team Mclaren this year as part of a long-running arrangement between the two. Schumacher, the 2020 Formula 2 champion, raced in Formula 1 for Haas over the past two seasons and scored two times. He lost his drive at the end of 2022, as well as his place in the Ferrari Driver Academy, and was then signed by Mercedes.
