In a sometimes halting video posted to the YouTube channel of his Phoenix record shop, the 'In' Groove, Esposito said that "pretty reliable sources" told him that MoFi (Mobile Fidelity), the Sebastopol, Calif., company that has prided itself on using original master tapes for its pricey reissues, had actually been using digital files in its production chain. In the world of audiophiles - where provenance is everything and the quest is to get as close to the sound of an album's original recording as possible - digital is considered almost unholy. And using digital while claiming not to is the gravest sin a manufacturer can commit. There was immediate pushback to Esposito's video, including from some of the bigger names in the passionate audio community. … [Read more...] about How a Phoenix record store owner set the audiophile world on fire

Colorado’s Most Expensive Home Is an Iconic $100M Mansion in Aspen
A 10-bedroom mansion with ski-in, ski-out ski access in Aspen, CO, is now available for an eye-popping $100 million. It's the most expensive home in Colorado by a margin of $15 million. "This is one of Aspen's most iconic properties," says listing agent Steven Shane , of Compass. "It was originally built by Chris Hemmeter , who sold it to Ted Field , a movie producer who threw some of Aspen's greatest parties at this residence. Ted Field later sold it to the current owner." Hemmeter is a developer of large-scale Hawaiian resorts, and Field is founder of Interscope Communications. Record-setting potential If the seller gets anywhere near the asking price, this mansion on 1.4 slope-side acres will set the record for the priciest transaction in Aspen history. Sky-high prices are not unusual in this town where 84 of the 346 houses currently for sale are priced over $10 million. However, this home stands apart from the crowd—in ways beyond its stratospheric price tag. … [Read more...] about Colorado’s Most Expensive Home Is an Iconic $100M Mansion in Aspen

ARG co-owners Garry and Barry Rogers, and Brian Boyd, were late additions to the successful bid for RACE to purchase Supercars from Archer, and were collectively understood to hold roughly 30 per cent, which unofficially sat under the ARG banner. Barry Rogers confirmed to Motorsport.com that it is Boyd's shares, not the Rogers' shares, that have been sold at this point. The sale of the shares comes following a tumultuous period in relations between ARG and RACE. ARG is known to be disgruntled over the lack of cohesion between Supercars and ARG's suite of categories, which includes TCR Australia, S5000, Touring Car Masters and Trans Am. That was highlighted by a recent decision by Triple Eight to ban Shane van Gisbergen from competing in Trams Am , which is … [Read more...] about Supercars shares change hands

2022 Supercars Perth SuperNight session times and preview
Listen to this article Supercars was unable to make its annual trip across the Nullarbor for the past two years due to WA's strict approach to COVID-19 control. The state was ultra-protective of its border throughout the pandemic, using it as a barrier to the rest of the country to effectively live a normal life without lengthy lockdowns or social distancing measures. The trade-off, however, was heavily restricted travel in and out for the best part of two years, which prevented Supercars from racing there in 2020 and 2021. It was only March this year that WA fully opened its borders to the rest of the country, which has facilitated the return of the Perth SuperNight to the Supercars schedule. The Perth SuperNight will be a rapid-fire, two-day meeting consisting of three 110-kilometre races, the first of which will be under lights. Saturday's action will start with two half-hour practice sessions ahead of a three-part knock-out qualifying session to determine the grid … [Read more...] about 2022 Supercars Perth SuperNight session times and preview
