The system will be designed to detect tyre damage in real time. The brand said that tyre damage contributes to roughly 30 percent of all road accidents caused by technical failure. Tyre related accidents arise because of four major reasons - inadequate pressure, fatigue, irregular wear, and lastly, damage from curbs, potholes, or sharp objects littered on the road. The brand says that while existing tyre pressure monitoring systems that feature on vehicles help manage avoid low pressure scenarios, they do not monitor damage to tyres.
