Nice Price Or Crack Pipe Is this used car a good deal? You decide! Larry Shinoda worked on two of the most iconic cars in American automotive history—the Chevy Corvette, and Ford Mustang. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Mustang Cobra is from the year of Shinoda’s passing. Will its price however, get a pass? I didn’t have the first clue as to what I would do with yesterday’s tactical defense grade 1990 Jeep Wagoneer Limited, and based on the comments, most of you were of a like mind. The majority of you didn’t like its $8,495 price either, sending it packing in a 56 percent Crack Pipe loss. I would say that the Chevy Corvette and Ford Mustang are both cars that bring happiness to their owners. I mean, why else would you buy one? Certainly not for their basic utility or fuel efficiency. Larry Shinoda was an automotive designer who got to work on both car lines and by all accounts he was a pretty fun guy, so much so that he got himself kicked out of … [Read more...] about At $13,250, Would Buying This 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra Mean That You Can Tell Shit From Shinoda?

The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah has put his modified Fox-Body 1988 Ford Mustang SSP up for auction, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to charity. This particular example is a Special Service Package coupe used by California Highway Patrol between 1988 and 1994. SSP models are highly sought after as they are the lightest version of the Fox-body Mustang, making them the most suitable for performance modifications. Speaking of which, there are a lot of them here, starting with a 5.0-liter Ford Racing crate engine, making 385hp with 350lb-ft of torque and bolted to a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox. The chassis also features an independent rear suspension instead of the original solid rear axle. Bilstein shocks and springs are used in all four corners, along with Derlin bushings and disc brakes from a Mustang Cobra. The bodywork was widened and painted by RDB LA, using steel fenders and carbon overfenders, as well as a Saleen lower front air dam. The wheels are 18-inch items … [Read more...] about Matt Farah Auctions His Modified Fox-Body Mustang SSP For Charity
Sad that you missed out on Radwood Philly because you didn’t have something rad to bring? Well dry those tears because here’s your chance to own one of the raddest cars to ever exist: Matt Farah’s very own 1988 Ford Mustang SSP 5.0. And if you buy it, the proceeds go to the cause of your choosing. Listed right now on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, the Mustang started out as a police Special Service Package coupe and was reportedly used by the California Highway Patrol from 1988 until 1994. Farah acquired the car in 2014 and then proceeded to, for lack of a better description, mod the shit out of it. He added wide-body fenders, a Saleen lower front air dam, independent rear suspension, Cobra disc brakes, Delrin suspension bushings, Bilstein shocks and springs, a 302 cubic-inch Ford Racing V8 crate engine, a roll bar and HRE 18-inch wheels, to name a few. The car originally was painted gray but was then repainted black in 2015 after all the bodywork was … [Read more...] about Buy Matt Farah’s 1988 Fox Body Mustang SSP Because The Proceeds Go To Charity
Saleen celebrates 35 trips around the sun this year, and it's marking the occasion with a Mustang-based special edition. The car is appropriately called the SA 35, for Saleen Automotive 35, and just 10 examples will be built. These days, Saleen is actually an automobile manufacturer, but the company began with a focus on tuning Mustangs in 1983, with its first Mustang-based vehicle rolled out in 1984. Engineering largely surrounded better handling characteristics, which the SA 35, based on a Ford Mustang GT, also embodies. In an announcement last week, Saleen said the SA 35 features a Racecraft R Code suspension to enhance the sixth-generation Mustang's handling chops. But, that's not all. Saleen also massaged the donor car's 5.0-liter V-8 to produce a 780 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. The added ponies come from a Saleen exhaust system and supercharger. 2019 Saleen 35th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang Of course, the car dons trademark black, white, and yellow graphics, and … [Read more...] about Saleen celebrates 35 years with commemorative 2019 Mustang
Saleen Automotive, the California company best known for modifying Ford Mustangs and producing the S7 supercar, has a new creation: the Saleen Sportruck XR. Think of it as a hotter Ford F-150 Raptor. The Sportruck XR made its debut at Harris Ford Lincoln in Lynnwood, Washington, last Friday after a teaser on Saleen's official Facebook page. Notably, the company will offer naturally aspirated and supercharged engines, though Saleen didn't provide performance specifications. We do know the latter will make at least 700 horsepower. The suspension and off-road credentials were developed with Greg Foutz of Foutz Motorsports as Saleen CEO, Steve Saleen, set out to build the best off-road pickup possible. With said ethos, the suspension boasts 2.5-inch coil-over shocks to level the front of the truck with the rear, while rear gains its own set of 2.5-inch Smooth series shocks. Customers who opt for the range-topping "Black Level" Sportruck XR will get 12 inches of front suspension … [Read more...] about Saleen Sportruck XR is a hotter 700-plus-horsepower F-150 Raptor
