Arguably one of the most stylish SUVs available, the Range Rover Velar is getting subtle exterior changes for the 2024 model year. Land Rover's designers have not fiddled with the styling too much as the luxury vehicle largely retains the sleek styling of the pre-facelift version. Updated headlights have jewel-like daytime running lights and flank a discreetly revised front grille. At the rear, the bumper's lower part has been mildly updated. Bigger changes have occurred inside the cabin where the 2024 Velar uses Land Rover's swanky 11.4-inch infotainment with a "floating" curved glass touchscreen. This hardware change brings it in line with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport , allowing users to access 80 percent of the available functions with just two taps of the home screen. 2024 Range Rover Velar 35 Photos Pivi Pro can accept over-the-air updates and … [Read more...] about 2024 Range Rover Velar Debuts With New Infotainment, Starts At $61,500

Bizzarrini Giotto Debuts With Naturally Aspirated V12, Giugiaro Design
Bizzarrini was founded by former Ferrari and Alfa Romeo engineer Giotto Bizzarrini in the 1960s to build high-end, low-volume sports cars. Before going his own way, the talented man was directly involved in the development of iconic cars such as the 250 GTO and the 250 GT SWB "Breadvan." Not only that, he also worked on Lamborghini's first V12 engine through his engineering company Societa Autostar. He also worked for Iso Rivolta before founding Societa Prototipi Bizzarrini (Bizzarrini S.p.A) in 1964. Some 140 vehicles were assembled at a plant in Livorno before the company went bust in 1969. Fast forward to 2020, Pegasus Brands acquired the rights to the "Bizzarrini" name in a bid to revive the brand. The 5300GT was brought back to life as a continuation model for a limited production run of 24 units, and now, Bizzarrini is previewing an all-new car. See Chevrolet Corvette C8 Get Built In Detailed Assembly Line Video
For upwards of 40 years, Bowling Green, Kentucky has been the birthplace of new Chevrolet Corvettes. The facility started with the then-new 1984 C4 Corvette, and it continues today with C8 assembly. Much of the plant was upgraded to make that happen, which is mentioned along with other interesting Corvette details in a new 42-minute feature from savagegeese on YouTube. Through this video, we learn that Corvette production is quite different from other Chevrolet vehicles and not just because the engine is behind the driver. For example, the process begins with individual body panels getting painted right away, then sent off for assembly sometime later. While this is happening, the aluminum tub is manufactured (technically it's the only Corvette component manufactured at the plant – everything else is merely assembled). The tub goes to the trim department where the interior, glass, and similar items are fitted. Rare 1971 De Tomaso Pantera Could Be The Earliest Model In Existence
Having the oldest known example of a car is something few enthusiasts experience, but that appears to be the case with this yellow 1971 De Tomaso Pantera. That was the first year of production for the Ford-powered, mid-engine exotic, and with a VIN ending in 1006, it could well be the oldest Pantera still alive. And it's for sale in Florida with an asking price of $250,000. Claiming a car is the earliest or first of a run is always tricky, but there's compelling evidence supporting this Pantera owner. According to its listing on eBay , the car is the sixth one built in total, including prototypes. The seller says the first three were display prototypes with no engines. Numbers four and five were reportedly used for crash testing. None of these are known to exist, which takes us to the yellow car here with its VIN ending in 1006. The seller says there's documentation with the car going all the way back to its first owner in Italy, as well as the original delivery book. … [Read more...] about Rare 1971 De Tomaso Pantera Could Be The Earliest Model In Existence
Guenther Steiner vows all resources will be invested into striking new VF-23
Guenther Steiner has no intention of spending money on “other stuff”, the Haas team boss adamant their only investment right now is “in the car”. Haas unveiled their new-look 2023 livery , the American outfit swapping out last year’s white for a predominantly black car that is sponsored by MoneyGram. It’s Haas’ third title sponsor in the team’s brief Formula 1 history having previously partnered Rich Energy and Uralkali, neither of which ended on a good note. That has at times left the team in a financial hole, but it’s one Steiner says was never as bad as it was made out to be. “I’d say we were never in a bad position,” he told Motorsport.com in an interview when asked if MoneyGram’s arrival had put the team in a better position. “2020 was not an easy position, because of the pandemic when that broke out. But I think yes, it puts us in a very solid position.” PlanetF1 recommends Ranked: The 10 possible F1 2024 destinations for Daniel Ricciardo in order of … [Read more...] about Guenther Steiner vows all resources will be invested into striking new VF-23
Hamilton’s championship fightback begins · RaceFans
On the evening of November 27th in Yas Marina, when we tot up the totals and figure out who has become the 2016 drivers’ champion, how dearly will Nico Rosberg’s decision to let his team mate past in Monaco have cost him? Formula One Management did not broadcast any of the radio discussions between Mercedes and their drivers as the position swap was orchestrated. According to Lewis Hamilton he did not ask to be let past even as race leader Daniel Ricciardo pulled away at over two seconds per lap . “It came to the point where we told Nico he would either need to pick up the pace or let Lewis past,” Lowe explained. “One lap later, he hadn’t managed to find that extra pace, so we asked him to move aside – which he did immediately.” While Lowe applauded Rosberg for “his team ethic and playing for the overall team result”, it begs the question whether Hamilton would have done the same in identical circumstances. Or, more to the point, whether Hamilton would have ended up in … [Read more...] about Hamilton’s championship fightback begins · RaceFans

A radio message from Fernando Alonso at the end of the Canadian gave the impression he wanted to retire from the race. suggested doing during the final race of last season . However on this occasion Alonso was asking for a pit stop, rather than to stop the race. Alonso said he asked “about the possibility of fitting fresh tyres for the last few laps, but I guess it was a little too much of a risk: at that point we were 11th and stood to score a point or two at the end if something were to have happened ahead of us.” “Still, I’d done more than 50 laps on those tyres – and the two-stoppers were a lot faster than me. I guess we were a bit unlucky – we really needed some rain or a Safety Car to put us back in the fight.” In the early stages of the race it seemed Red Bull were preparing to swap the other of their drivers. Max Verstappen was reminded at one point not to hold up team mate Daniel Ricciardo.
