Plus a 200-pound diet and a new 2.0-liter turbo engine. The unconventional look of the Jeep Cherokee caused quite a stir when it was revealed at the 2013 New York Auto Show. As in, a lot of critics hated the way it looked. “It was very progressive, modern,” admits Mike Manley, Head of the Jeep brand. “But we needed to do that to break through the segment.” With a tiered lighting arrangement and a pointy grille that were not at all like any contemporary Jeep, the Cherokee certainly stood out. But that was the intention: make an impact as Jeep returned with a vengeance to the segment dominated by names like CR-V and RAV4. The strategy worked, with the Cherokee selling well and nobody mentioning the “weird” styling ever again. “It did what it was supposed to do, it called attention to the vehicle,” says Mark Allen, Head of Jeep design. But when it was time to develop the refreshed 2019 Cherokee , he was asked to significantly tamp down on the crossover’s boldness – … [Read more...] about 2019 Jeep Cherokee Gets A More Traditional Face, Roomier Interior
The American-owned team has made an early call on how to use its restricted aero testing resources, switching its focus fully to its 2022 car at the first opportunity. The decision means that no development is planned on this year's VF21 after the first test in Bahrain. Team boss Gunther Steiner conceded that there was risk inherent in turning off the development tap and potentially finishing last in the 2021 world championship, but it's one it had to accept. "Yeah, there is that risk, but we need to live with that risk," Steiner told Motorsport.com. "We need to see the big picture is the mid- to long-term, it's not the short-term. "If we just see the short term, then in '22 it will be, 'Why didn't we do the '22 car? Because now we cannot catch up.' "It's very difficult to catch up with the aero restrictions and the budget cap. So you put as much in as you can on the front end." Steiner says that his team is prepared for a difficult year: "It will be quite a … [Read more...] about Haas accepts “risk” in abandoning development of 2021 F1 car

The company launched the Pulsar 180F BS6 model at Rs 1.08 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The motorcycle featured an electronic fuel injection system instead of a carbureted one. Instead, now it only has the 220F as the only half-faired motorcycle listed on its website. The reason for the 180F getting discontinued may be because of the pricing, as it was expensive for a half-faired motorcycle. And also the sales for the 180F was not that great after it was launched.
