An anonymous H-E-B employee is calling for company CEO Howard Butt, III to change the grocery store's sick day policy after alleging they were told to continue working after testing positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 1, 2023. "While I wasn't running a fever, I had terrible symptoms and by all means should have been encouraged to stay at home," the person posted in January, along with their petition . The employee states that the sick leave issue arose because of their testing positive for COVID, however the petition argues against the H-E-B's sick policy as a whole. The company's previous policy allowed employees to call out sick eight times over the span of a year. Now, employees could potentially lose their job if they call out more than three times in six months, according to a June 2022 article published by the San Antonio Report. H-E-B company policy uses a step system to track an employee's attendance, according to reporter Waylon Cunningham. Watch Porsche 959 Prepare For Restoration By Losing Its Body Panels
Porsche recently unveiled the 911 Dakar as a high-riding, more rugged model that pays homage to the brand's success in the famous off-road rally. In a new video, the company showcases the restoration of a 959 from the 1986 running of the event. The team of Jacky Ickx and Claude Brasseur drove this 959 to a second-place finish in that year's rally. René Metge and Dominique Lemoine won that year in another 959, and a third entry scored sixth place. All three remain in the automaker's collection. Mazda Uncertain Whether The CX-5 Will Get A Next Generation
With 365,135 units sold, the CX-5 was by far Mazda's most popular product last year when total deliveries went down by 13.3 percent to 1,116,107 vehicles. Even though sales of the crossover declined by 4.4 percent year over year, the volume it generated was still more than double compared to the Mazda3, which came in second at 173,619 cars. Despite being the company's best-selling product, it might not live to see a third-generation model. When asked about what the future has in tow for the CX-5 , the model's product manager Mitsuru Wakiie had a surprising answer: "I'm not sure whether we are going to introduce a CX-5 or not, so I can't give you any details." He declined to elaborate, but discontinuing the model after the current generation runs its course would be a surprise seeing as how it's number one in sales by a significant margin. 2022 Mazda CX-5 5 Photos That being said, lest we … [Read more...] about Mazda Uncertain Whether The CX-5 Will Get A Next Generation
Ricciardo heads Mercedes in incident-packed practice – F1 Fanatic
Daniel Ricciardo completed a successful day of running with Renault’s upgraded power unit by heading an eventful second practice session. The Red Bull driver lapped over six-tenths of a second quicker than Lewis Hamilton and well inside last year’s pole position time. Neither Mercedes driver appeared to manage a completely clean lap on the ultra-soft tyres. Nico Rosberg was almost four-tenths of a second slower than his team mate. Max Verstappen , still using the original engine (also branded TAG Heuer) in his car, was only a tenth of a second down on Rosberg. He had the two Toro Rossos for company as neither Ferrari driver figured in the top five. Both SF16-H drivers appeared to be struggling with their cars and Sebastian Vettel made contact with the barriers twice on his way to ninth place. First he went into the Mirabeau tyre wall backwards, damaging his rear wing, and shortly after returning to the track he broke a wheel rim at Sainte Devote. But he was far from … [Read more...] about Ricciardo heads Mercedes in incident-packed practice – F1 Fanatic
