There's a lot to be seen here. Following the debut of the T50 supercar, many of our readers noted with exaltation that Gordon Murray basically created the McLaren F1 of the 2020s. His supercar is light, fast, powerful, and keeps things down to the basics. Oh, it even has the same seat layout as the legendary F1. It’s probably safe to say Murray is virtually obsessed with lightweight sports cars, and his personal collection more than proves that. Top Gear’s latest video takes a look at the amazing collection of the F1’s father, and the one-hour-long footage goes through a number of very interesting topics and vehicles. By the time the current 2.2-liter V6 twin-turbo regs expire at the end of the 2022 season, they will have served the NTT IndyCar Series for 11 seasons, with Chevrolet and Honda finding ever-smaller areas in which to improve and gain an edge. With displacement increasing to 2.4-liters, an increase in boost from the twinned BorgWarner turbos and the addition of a KERS hybrid unit, IndyCar is aiming to hit 900hp, and IndyCar president Jay Frye said recently that he expects the series to be “pushing” that figure – on road and street courses – soon into 2023. Buckner commented today: “Somewhat lost in the 2.4-liter transition is the fact that we’re going up in base boost as well. “It’s easy to think that we’re going up roughly 10 percent in displacement and so we’re going to go up 10 percent in power, but we’re also going to start operating at 1.6-bar as the standard for road and street courses from 1.5-bar. “And put all that together with the hybrid unit and I think fans … [Read more...] about Chevrolet: IndyCar fans will approve of hybrid power jump

It doesn't have to do with regulations. As you would expect from an absolute EV flagship with a six-figure price tag, the Mercedes EQS is brimming with tech. From its powerful dual-motor AWD setup to the 56-inch Hyperscreen, the fullsize luxury sedan is worthy of its status as the S-Class of electric cars. That said, some would argue there's one glaring omission – side cameras. Long story short, Mercedes was concerned that seeing what goes on behind the vehicle would've resulted in motion sickness. Not only that, but the electricity needed to power the cameras would've almost negated the aerodynamic benefits created after replacing the bulky mirrors with tiny cameras. Even with chunky side mirrors, the Mercedes EQS is still the most aerodynamic series production car ever built. With the 19-inch AMG wheels … [Read more...] about Mercedes Explains Why The 2022 EQS Still Has Traditional Mirrors
