Catherine Colonna of France and Wopke Hoekstra of the Netherlands visited the military base in Cincu, central Romania, along with their Romanian counterpart, Bogdan Aurescu. France and the Netherlands both have troops in the battlegroup, which was strengthened in the wake of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, Romania's neighbor. Woodlands halts TxDOT’s $40 million plan to widen Texas 242 to six lanes

While the state now plans some improvements to Texas 242 between FM 1488 to Gosling Road in The Woodlands, it won’t include more traffic lanes or a wall to help muffle noise from the roadway. The updated project will include the widening of the four-lane state highway from Gosling to Interstate 45, which TxDOT announced in April. A beloved Houston news anchor is back on TV after a break from air that lasted several months. Longtime Fox 26 Houston morning anchor Jose Griñan returned on Monday after being off of the channel since late 2022. "It's really exciting to be back after being off for such a long time. But when they doctors say you have to rest, you have to rest and you have to obey the doctors orders," Griñan said on Monday while on air. "We have missed you so much," said his co-anchor Melissa Wilson. "This newsroom has not been the same without you." The Greater Houston Basketball Committee (GHBC) announced today the winner of the 2016 Guy V Lewis Award for the Great Houston Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year is De’Aaron Fox of Cy Lakes High School. The event honored the 10 finalists for the 2016 Guy V. Lewis Award which is given annually to the Boys High School Player of the Year in the Greater Houston area. This is the fifth year that this unique award to be given out. The previous winners include Rasheed Sulaimon of Strake Jesuit in 2012, the 2013 winner was Aaron Harrison who played at Kentucky, Justise Winslow, who won a national championship at Duke and plays for the Miami Heat, and Galen Robinson Jr., now playing at Houston.
