The current generation, the 911 series, has been in production since 2013. For the joy of driving purists — and of collectors — the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 specs include both manual gearbox and dual-clutch options. Though the Porsche GT3 price (MSRP) is $143,600, adding options such as carbon ceramic brakes, heated seats and more can skyrocket the cost of a new car. No Porsche GT3 review would be complete without mentioning that the driving experience is equally thrilling on both racetrack and regular roads. Porsche 911 need for speed
Tweet TweetAt the end of this month the 2012 North American International Auto Show will open its gates and even though we already know what to look for, Porsche wanted to remind us something. This would be the 2013 Porsche 911 Convertible which the Germans have confirmed to have ready for a full unveil by the opening day, January 9th. The drop-top version of the recently announced 2012 Porsche 911’s new generation, the 991 is very predictable in what it will offer but is still enormously interesting.spyshot scene hasn’t been filling our needs either. This new unveiling should introduce the same bonus points as the Coupe, only with the open top experience to show off. That means that the notable improvements will have been seen by the addition of a new, refreshed engine, a new more aerodynamic body and a seven speed manual gearbox. The latter is the true premier but we can’t ditch the merits of how Porsche have managed to make an already great sports car, the Porsche … [Read more...] about 2013 Porsche 911 Convertible confirmed for Detroit unveil
Few cars live up to the hype of the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Engineered to be a proper driver’s car, it has already set a new lap record at the Nurburgring, dethroning the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Thanks to the 700PS (690hp / 515kW) and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque generated by the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six that are channeled to the ground via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the new 911 GT2 RS is capable of reaching as much as 340km/h (212mph) and needs just 2.9 seconds to hit 100km/h (62mph) from a standstill. Just in case you needed reassurance that the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a very fast car, AutoBild took it to the Sachsenring, where it has set a new lap record. By going from start to finish in just 1:26.61, the ‘Widow Maker‘ has proved itself faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder, which was the previous record-holder with 1:26.77. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS left the Mercedes-AMG GT R, McLaren 720S, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and others in the dust, and came about 4 seconds to the Aprilia RS-GP bike’s record, and more than 5 seconds behind Marc Marquez and his Honda RC213V. But these numbers would be for nothing unless seeing just how fast the supercar actually was on the 3.7km (2.3mi) long German track, so the publication released a video that shows the entire run. Selflessly testing the widely-held theory that you can use Stuttgart’s finest as an everyday car, Kyle Fortune tries family life with a 911 Carrera Coupé Our car: Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé List price when new: £76,412 Price as tested: £84,891 Official fuel economy: 34.0mpg (EU Combined) Read more long-term tests March 13th, 2018 Fuel economy this week: 21.5mpg I’m not expecting any sympathy, but the Porsche 911 Carrera has gone. I’ll admit to being more than a little bit distraught when the man from Porsche came to collect it; still, better to have loved and lost and all that… And love it I did, which isn’t unusual for long-term test cars, but there’s usually a lengthy list of provisos attached to that. With the 911 there really wasn’t. I’d asked to borrow it out of a genuine interest to see if a sports car would work as a daily driver. Not just a car for selfish old me, … [Read more...] about Porsche 911 Carrera – long-term test: is a 911 really the best all-rounder?
