Listen to this article Star Wars fans are eagerly awaiting the start of Obi-Wan Kenobi , the latest Disney + series set in a galaxy far, far away. The short series launches on May 27, and Volkswagen hopes to capture some of the excitement with a collaboration featuring its new ID. Buzz, which according to C-3PO isn't a threat because it's smiling. Truth be told, the protocol droid isn't wrong. Take a gander at the face of VW's electric van and you'll see a big grin above the mesh grille. For that matter, Obi-Wan Kenobi himself is also smiling as he drives it away, presumably because he hates flying. And everyone worth their Republic credits knows land speeders are clumsy and random. The ID. Buzz , then, is an elegant vehicle for a more civilized age. Hey, it's a Star Wars collab with an automaker. We are required to include at least one cheeky reference to the films in some manner. This is the way. To VW's credit, this video isn't just an ID. Buzz with some … [Read more...] about VW Steps Into Star Wars Universe With Obi-Wan Kenobi Driving ID. Buzz

Why ‘Atlanta’ Season 3 was such a letdown
In its first two outings, the auteur-driven, genre-defying absurdist dramedy "Atlanta" - about an aimless, upwardly immobile Princeton dropout named Earn (played by series creator Donald Glover) who remakes himself as the manager of his cousin Alfred's (Brian Tyree Henry) fledgling rap career - was one of the most acclaimed shows on television. The crown jewel of its network, the already prestige-laden FX, it boasted Emmys, star power, buzz, influence and a rare, smirking wit that seldom got its due in the countless, and fully deserved, paeans to its trenchant social commentary and boundary-pushing experimentation. Perhaps the surest sign of its success is how many shows it's inspired; it's hard to imagine critic's darlings like "Dave," "Ramy" or "Reservation Dogs" existing without it. But Season 3, which premiered this spring after a four-year hiatus, has had a more mixed reception. Much of it follows the cousins on Al's (aka Paper Boi) latest European tour, where they're joined by … [Read more...] about Why ‘Atlanta’ Season 3 was such a letdown

Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 8 SAO PAULO (AP) — In Rio de Janeiro, bold swimmers have been discouraged from diving into the cold ocean, while Sao Paulo authorities had to open up subway stations to accommodate homeless people as Brazil's south experienced unusually low temperatures on Friday. Temperatures on Friday morning dropped below 23 Fahrenheit (-5 Celsius) in Santa Catarina state, covering several municipalities with a thin layer of snow. Earlier this week a fierce hailstorm scared residents of Rio's west zone. Earlier this week, authorities in Rio Grande do Sul, canceled soccer matches, closed public buildings early and suspended classes in schools and universities due to fears of major disruptions. (AFP Photo) SEOUL: President Joe Biden arrived in South Korea Friday, his first Asia trip as US leader, aiming to cement ties with regional security allies despite growing fears of a North Korean nuclear test. Biden wants the trip to reinvigorate a years-long US pivot to Asia, where rising Chinese commercial and military power is undercutting Washington’s dominance. He received a warm welcome from South Korea’s new President Yoon Suk-yeol, but there is growing concern that North Korea’s unpredictable leadership could conduct a nuclear test while he is in the region. Sports teams love crypto. What happens when their sponsor strikes out?
Last week, the Washington Nationals posted a tweet that read: "Crypto 101. You have questions. We've got answers." An accompanying video included frequently asked questions about cryptocurrency, asked and answered over a baseball highlight reel. One big problem, though, was that cryptocurrency was in free fall, spurred by the collapse of Terra, the sponsor of the social media posts and the Nationals' most visible brand partner in 2022. Fans quickly expressed anger with their favorite team pushing a plummeting cryptocurrency to its Twitter following of more than 780,000. The tweet was scheduled in advance, according to multiple people inside the organization, who also said that Terra's collapse is stirring tension about how to proceed with the partnership. The Nationals signed a five-year, $38.15 million deal this winter to promote Terra and received all the money up front. The internal debate, according to multiple people with knowledge of the discussions, is centered on … [Read more...] about Sports teams love crypto. What happens when their sponsor strikes out?
