PSA Group, the parent company of Citroën, DS Automobiles, Peugeot, Opel, and Vauxhall, wants to come back to the U.S. market with low-volume production models, likely on a similar method as Alfa Romeo’s return to the U.S. They are, however, also considering a ride-sharing model as well. In either case, PSA Group have begun the process of setting up a new North American headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Across the five brands, they produce a bunch of Euro-chic small cars that we would love to see in a Stateside PSA comeback. Peugeot has been gone from the U.S. market since 1991, Citroën left in 1989 and while the Vauxhall brand has never been to the U.S., Opel had a short-lived U.S. jaunt from 1958 to 1975 under GM control, and some of their cars are still sold as Buicks today. If the brand is adamant about making a return, here are nine cars we would be ecstatic to see on our roads. DS 5 Every new brand needs to launch with some luxury, making the largest DS model … [Read more...] about Peugeot Citroën Is Coming Back To The U.S., So What Do They Make That We Actually Want?
Peugeot 208 gti facelift
[Read more...] about Peugeot 208 tiga-pintu mungkin akan dihentikan produksi tidak lama lagi kerana prestasi jualan lembab
It was the Clio RS that stopped people in their tracks. Which was a surprise. In the cold light of day, the five-door, pencil-sharpened hatch looks a bit strange, oddly unadorned; but at night, city-lit from above in a pool of orange sodium, the Renault looks steely, chiselled, clean and crisp, wide and low, its headlights glinting. Ipoh’s nightlife stopped with unexpected regularity, and looked, pointed, and said ooh and ah, look-at-that-what-is-it? Meanwhile, the Ford Fiesta ST, in a lighter shade of red – probably one of the greatest, most satisfying, most perfectly balanced and tuned driver’s cars to be built this decade, if not this century – was ignored. Maybe they couldn’t see that it was an ST. Maybe they didn’t care. Maybe it doesn’t matter. No, sorry, I’m going to have to stop you there. It matters. The same goes for the Peugeot 208 GTi. This 200 hp pocket-rocket could roll along through a crowded street without anyone … [Read more...] about Ford Fiesta ST vs Peugeot 208 GTi vs Renault Clio RS 200
When Renault revealed its Clio RS 16 concept at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, there was an inkling that something good will come of it. Well, the French carmaker has now unveiled the new Clio RS, which is based on the recently-facelifted Clio. The Clio IV-based hot hatch comes in three flavours – Sport, Cup and Trophy. According to Renault, each variant comes with its own chassis setup and comes fitted with either 17- or 18-inch wheels. Two engine outputs are also available here, again, dependant on variant choice. Focusing on the car’s chassis, the Sport can be described as the “mild” Clio RS, whereas the Cup’s skeleton has been strengthened to make it a little “spicier.” The Trophy is the “spiciest” of the lot, which not only gets the beefed up chassis, but also gets a lowered ride height – 20 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear – and a quicker steering rack. Under the hood, all three variants are powered by a … [Read more...] about Renault reveals Clio RS facelift
Peugeot will reportedly stop production of the three-door 208, and it plans to do so in the coming weeks, according to Holland’s AutoWeek. The decision was mainly driven by the slow take-up rate in most markets, and it’s not surprising as other car manufacturers have already adopted a similar move. If you hadn’t noticed, there hasn’t been a three-door version of the Clio (not even the Clio RS), and neither the new Volkswagen Polo nor SEAT Ibiza are available in the said body style. Also to note, the Polo GTI is offered only as a five-door hot hatch. Apparently, Peugeot’s decision to retire the three-door 208 is final, and it won’t make a return when the next-generation supermini takes the stand at the 2018 Paris Auto Show. This will also mean that the next 208 GTi – if there is one – will take up a five-door body. But fret not, because the niche segment is still being populated by the likes of the Ford Fiesta and MINI Cooper 3-Door. … [Read more...] about Peugeot 208 3-door may be canned due to slow sales
