Mahindra is all set to give the KUV100 micro SUV new variants in order to keep the vehicle relevant in the changing marketplace. A tepid seller currently, the KUV100 could pick up in terms of sales once the new variants are launched in India. The micro SUV will not only get AMT options on both the petrol and diesel engined variants but will also get an all electric variant. Notably, the eKUV100, an electric SUV that was first shown at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, will be Mahindra’s first ever electric SUV for the Indian market. Fuel prices in India have gone up again. Nothing new, right? Well, the latest prices of non-branded petrol after the hike is Rs 79.99 per lire in Delhi and the same for diesel is Rs 72.07 per litre. This makes the latest fuel prices to be the highest ever recorded in the country. On Friday, the oil marketing companies increased the prices of petrol by 48 paise and that of diesel by 52 paise per litre in Delhi. The petrol prices have gone up by Rs 3.68 per litre while that of diesel is of Rs 4.25 per litre since August 1, 2018. Post the hike, petrol is priced at Rs 86.9 per litre in Mumbai while diesel is available at Rs 76 per litre. On May 28, the diesel rates touched Rs 69.31 per litre which was considerably higher than the previous. This was then updated on August 27th. Tata Motors has just launched cheaper variant of the Nexon AMT, making the sub-4 meter vehicle India’s cheapest automatic SUV. Both petrol and diesel variants of the Nexon AMT are now available in the XM trim. The Tata Nexon AMT XM petrol is priced at Rs. 7.5 lakhs while the diesel model is priced at Rs. 8.53 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The next cheapest automatic SUV in India is the Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT, which starts from Rs. 8.54 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Last week, we mentioned the Indian government raised prices of petrol and diesel by 17 paise a litre and 21 paise a litre respectively which was the first hike in 19-days. However, the hike in fuel prices have not stopped since then and have now been increased further. The latest fuel prices as per today stand at Rs 84.70 per litre for petrol and Rs 72.48 per litre for diesel in Mumbai. This is the 10th price hike in the fuel rates from the one that was done on May 14, 2018. The alarming rate in which fuel prices are being increased has been an area of concern for the government as well. As reported by TOI, the Indian Govt. is looking at reducing the excise duty on motor fuels and is also working on measures to curb the harsh impact from the rising crude oil prices. Hyundai India today announced the addition of a 1.4L petrol engine to the its new-gen Verna. The new Hyundai Verna 1.4L petrol is priced at Rs 7.79 lakh, ex-Delhi, for the base E variant. In addition, the Hyundai Verna petrol is also available in a EX variant that is available at Rs 9.09 lakh, ex-Delhi. Both the new petrol variants are available across Hyundai dealerships spread in the country.The new-gen Hyundai Verna was launched in August 2017 at Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-Delhi. The sedan, back then, was available with only two engine options ? a 123PS/151Nm 1.6-litre petrol and a 128PS/260Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel engine.
