The cost of Bugatti Veyron replacement parts has intrigued enthusiasts from the moment the French hypercar was released over a decade ago. Crazy figures have been thrown around but due to the limited availability of the car, many details have remained a mystery and become part of popular Bugatti folklore. Now, thanks to the recent emergence of an EPA certification application from 2014, we know some of the exorbitant costs involved in replacing certain Veyron parts. Unsurprisingly, some of the figures may make your eyes water. Let’s start with one of the most expensive parts; the fuel tank. If, for any reason, a Bugatti Veyron owner needs a replacement fuel tank, they’ll have to part ways with €17,904 ($20,349) for a new one. If they actually want that tank installed by Bugatti professionals, that’ll add €20,000 ($22,731), bringing the total bill to €37,904 ($43,080). That’s roughly the same price as a brand new Mercedes-AMG A35. It’s not … [Read more...] about Bugatti Veyron’s Parts And Labor Costs Are Insane; A Fuel Tank Will Cost You $43,000!

The original Bugatti Veyron remains an automotive masterpiece. It's capable of tremendous speed, but that's not what everyone finds thrilling behind the wheel. Some folks just want to do donuts and have silly fun. The problem with doing donuts in a Veyron is the standard all-wheel-drive system simply provides too much traction. To make donuts easy to do, the AWD system would have to be unhooked. Houston Crosta is the owner of Royalty Exotic Cars in Las Vegas. He also owns the 2008 Bugatti Veyron in the video above and wants to do donuts in it. So, he and his mechanic, Jesse Tang, set out to detach the front axles from the front differential and show us what happens. Instead of simply disconnecting those front wheels from the powertrain, Crosta and Tang remove the front differential completely. We don't see them actually pull out that unit, but the front axles are clearly pulled away from the diff. Once the car is bolted back together, Crosta takes it for an initial drive to check for … [Read more...] about Las Vegas owner modifies Bugatti Veyron to rear-wheel drive, instantly does donuts

Here’s a tip to all Bugatti Veyron owners out there: just because your hypercar can accelerate unlike almost anything else, that doesn’t mean it can defy the laws of physics. Sounds like stating the obvious, right? Well, it appears as if the owner of this Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse could do with a reminder – or a little tutorial on how to use the brake pedal. Last year, YouTuber LK Horizon jumped into the passenger seat of an eye-catching Vitesse at the Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in the UK for some drag racing. Throughout most of the run, everything appeared to be fine as the Bugatti reached roughly 208 mph (334 km/h). However, when it came time to brake, the owner appeared to think the car could take a 90-degree corner at roughly 100 mph (160 km/h). Guess what: it couldn’t. Consequently, the multi-million-dollar Bugatti understeered straight into heavy crash barriers filled with water. On first impressions, the damage sustained appears rather minor thanks to the … [Read more...] about Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Crashes Into Barriers After 208 MPH Run
