MIAMI – (May 20, 2015) – Motorsport.com LLC, a Miami based global technology and multimedia company, today announced its acquisition of the multimedia publishing company Edimotive S.r.l, Italy’s most valuable online resource for motorsports and automotive news content. As part of the agreement, Motorsport.com acquires all Edimotive S.r.l assets of its daily web magazines and broadcasting, new media and digital webTV, including, OmniAuto.it , OmniCorse.it , OmniMoto.it , OmniFurgone.it and others. OmniCorse.it will be renamed Motorsport.com and become the Italian version of the website. Try and spot the changes, we dare you. Not to be outdone by the refreshed VAG trio (Golf, Octavia, Leon) and the new Renault Megane, Peugeot is about to introduce a mild facelift for its 308 C-segment hatchback. As these “accidentally” leaked official images are showing, there aren’t going to be any drastic styling changes since the designers are only making subtle tweaks. The most significant modifications are noticeable at the front where the grille has a different shape and comes with an updated mesh. The dotted LED daytime running lights have been replaced by a more modern continuous line located in the same position as on the pre-facelift car. Peugeot also revised the bumper by giving it bigger side vents and new fog lights. The electric XC40 gets some visual pizzazz to compete in the crossover-coupe segment. Today is a big day for Volvo, not only because it's taking the wraps off the C40 Recharge, but also due to an important announcement made this morning. The Swedish brand part of the Geely Group – along with Polestar, Lotus , Proton, and Lynk & Co – has vowed to abolish the ol' internal combustion engine by the end of the decade. That’s right, there won't be any ICE-powered Volvos past 2030. To get there, Volvo will diversify its electric portfolio in the coming years, kicking off with the C40 Recharge. Essentially an XC40 with coupe-inspired styling cues, the second EV from the brand has a slightly lower roofline and a sportier rear end to capitalize on the crossover-coupe boom. While the standard XC40 can be had with gasoline engines, the new C40 comes exclusively with zero emissions. I’m not sure what surprises me more – that it’s 20 years since Dale Earnhardt died or that I have been covering NASCAR racing even longer than that. So much has occurred in NASCAR since I began covering the sport on a regular basis in April 1998 that it’s often hard to remember many details about any particular race weekend. Oh, I’ll remember who won a race, or a particularly bad wreck or sometimes it may be something totally off the wall, like the giant Tropicana Orange that rolled onto the track at Chicagoland Speedway in 2004 during a qualifying session.
