F1 is currently evaluating the introduction of sprint races on the Saturday of three events this year, running a 100km race that would set the grid for the Sunday grand prix. The plan received “broad support” from teams at the latest F1 Commission meeting, with further details currently being outlined by a working group. Officials have identified races in Canada, Italy and Brazil as being the trial events for sprint races in 2021. The proposals have received lukewarm support from drivers so far, with Red Bull duo Verstappen and Perez becoming the latest drivers to air their uncertainty over the idea. Rumors of a Porsche 911 with a second cap have been swirling around the World Wide Web for years and now a high-ranked official has announced an electrified derivative is no longer being considered. As a matter of fact, development of a hybrid 911 was halted last year, according to 718 and 911 head of development, August Achleitner. The reveal was made in an interview with Car & Driver during the festivities organized on the occasion of the one millionth 911 . He went on to specify the plug-in hybrid model was originally destined to be a part of the upcoming 992 generation and would’ve been very thrifty in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) tests thanks to electrification. Model could have a new 4.2-liter engine that produces more than 500 horsepower. Spy photographers have snapped the first photos of what is believed to be the 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.2. Billed as a hardcore version of the 911 GT3 RS, the model has an aggressive front bumper with massive air intakes.  The sporty styling continues further back as we can see front fender vents and lightweight center-locking wheels.  The prototype is still in the early stages of the development but it appears the model will have a new rear bumper and a rear diffuser sourced from the 911 R .  Lastly, the model has been equipped with a dual exhaust system and a large rear wing.
