It’s called the Charlotte Roadster, and costs $1.6 million. Are you the type of person that scoffs at the plebeian offerings from Ferrari and Lamborghini ? Then maybe up-and-coming supercar maker Frangivento will be able to wow you with its latest build. The Charlotte roadster hails from Italy, and comes pre-loaded with an electric powertrain, a million-dollar price tag, and yes, even a saltwater fish tank. The supercar made its world debut at the Top Marques in Monaco in April, but was on display again just recently. Designer Giorgio Pirolo says the vehicle draws its inspiration from the Mediterranean. Leather, Alcantara, and wood surfaces throughout the cabin are said to recreate reflections off the water, so the fish tank makes sense… sort of. "The occupants of the two seats will feel as if they are diving into the sea thanks to the two ‘waves’ that envelop the Sarco seats right up to the door panels," reads the press release. "The fishes Nemo and Dory … [Read more...] about Frangivento Electric Supercar Has A Built-In Fish Tank… Say What?
Formula 1 drivers have to be at peak physical fitness in order to perform during a grand prix, with every element of their training and diet designed to make them go faster on race day. It might not look it on TV, but drivers experience punishing forces over the course of a qualifying lap that most ordinary people would find intolerable after a matter of seconds. When you consider that they do this lap after lap and that most races last around an hour and a half, it’s not hard to imagine why modern F1 drivers have to train like elite athletes. It hasn’t always been this way – in F1’s earlier years, and even through to the 1980s, the benefits of staying fit were largely understood, although the meticulous approach to training and conditioning is a more recent phenomenon that was pushed first by the likes of Ayrton Senna, and later Michael Schumacher. There's a 2.0 Mazda-sourced engine under the hood. Hurtan is a Granada-based small-scale automaker, focused on building retro-looking vehicles with modern technologies. About two months ago, the Spanish company unveiled its Grand Albaycin roadster based on the Mazda MX-5 , and now there’s a new version of that car. Just like Mazda has a hardtop version of the two-seater, Hurtan is launching the Grand Albaycin Bespoke based on the MX-5 Miata RF. Logically, this means the soft-top mechanism is replaced by an automatic hardtop roof, which can be finished in a different color compared to the rest of the body for a two-tone paint scheme. Gallery: Hurtan Grand Albaycín Bespoke 5 Photos Other than the hardtop, the sports car looks identical to the model introduced in January. One major difference though is the lack of the entry-level 1.5-liter engine. The Miata RF-based roadster will be … [Read more...] about Hurtan Grand Albaycín Bespoke Is A Miata RF With Euro Influences

Comes in two flavors – one of them you can decide what to officially call. When talking about Italian supercars, the name FV Frangivento will not likely be at the top of your list, but that doesn't stop the Turin-based automaker to introduce its latest model, the FV Frangivento Sorpasso. As a follow-up to the Asfane DieciDieci 1,000-hp hypercar and the $1.6-million Charlotte electric roadster (with a built-in fish tank), the Sorpasso has a quirk of its own. It's available in two flavors, Stradale and GTXX, with the latter's buyers given the decision to change the two Xs into numbers of their choice. How's that for customization? Apart from that, buyers of both the Sorpasso Stradale and GTXX can enter two personal programs called Programma Sviluppo and Programma Ego for 30 days wherein they can work side-by-side with the stylists to design their own car. The Sorpasso Stradale differs from the other with its cleaner and more elegant … [Read more...] about FV Frangivento Sorpasso Is An Italian 850-HP Supercar You Can Rename
