Christian Horner has revealed that attention at Red Bull is already beginning to turn to their 2024 car, with 15 races still to go in 2023. The team have won seven races out of seven to begin the campaign, with the RB19 proving to be the dominant force on the grid and Max Verstappen leading the Drivers’ Championship by 53 points as it stands. Red Bull are already the runaway leaders in the Constructors’ Championship as well, with a tight fight behind breaking out already to be best of the rest – but both titles already look to be something of a foregone conclusion, barring a huge change in fortune. While the team’s penalty for breaching the 2021 budget cap will see Red Bull even less able to utilise their wind tunnel facilities compared to their rivals in 2023, the advantage they have over the rest of the field may make such a penalty seem immaterial at this moment in time, with the race behind being simply to catch up. If attention is turning to Red Bull’s 2024 challenger … [Read more...] about The Christian Horner reveal that spells both good and bad news for rivals

Pierre Gasly discusses bitter rivalry with Esteban Ocon and current dynamic
Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon have a complicated past, but working together at Alpine is proving to be “very easy” according to Gasly. When Fernando Alonso announced that he would be departing Alpine at the end of 2022 to switch to Aston Martin, Alpine made the move to prise Gasly away from the Red Bull fold and create an all-French driver line-up as he became team-mate to Ocon. There were some eyebrows raised regarding this news though, considering it is rather well-documented that the pair of Normandy natives have not always been the best of friends in the past. Or as Gasly terms it, they have certainly had their “ups and downs”. Seven rounds of the F1 2023 campaign have now passed though and there has been no sign of tempers flaring between the duo, Gasly instead talking up the efficiency of their Alpine partnership. “We’ve known each other since we were nine years old, 18 years ago now,” Gasly told Mundo Deportivo . “Obviously we know each other very well and we have … [Read more...] about Pierre Gasly discusses bitter rivalry with Esteban Ocon and current dynamic
2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition Brings Le Mans Racer To The Road
The Chevrolet Camaro will cease production after the 2024 model year. However, it’s going out with a bang. Earlier this week, Chevrolet announced the Collector’s Edition, and it has now unveiled the 2024 Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition to celebrate the NASCAR Cup Camaro ZL1 racing in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Camaro receives a handful of visual upgrades replicating the race car’s look, although we doubt the two will sound the same . The car wears a new-for-2024 Riptide Blue exterior that is available across the model line, which Chevy spruces up with a graphics package that mimics the race car’s livery. 2004 Porsche Cayenne S With 1.9 TDI Diesel Is The Definition Of Frugal Luxury
For the 2024 model year in the United States, even in its base form, the Porsche Cayenne comes with a 3.0-liter turbo V6 generating 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet. This makes it more powerful than the first-generation Cayenne S with its 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8, which had 335 hp and 310 lb-ft. But if performance and speed are not what you are looking for in a Cayenne, then this 2004 Cayenne S might answer your needs. The vehicle recently came up for sale in Ukraine as a good-looking first-gen Cayenne with OEM wheels and a few aftermarket tweaks. The styling isn’t the most important thing about it, as there’s now a 1.9-liter TDI diesel engine from Volkswagen under the hood of Stuggart’s flagship SUV. The four-cylinder direct injection compression ignition mill is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox sourced from a Volkswagen Touareg 2.5 TDI. Red Bull issue clear warning to rivals following RB19 floor reveal
Red Bull have warned rivals that if they think an “ignorant” copy and paste of their RB19 floor will propel them up the order, then they should think again. Crashes for Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend gave rivals a detailed look at the crucial undersides of those challengers as the crane hoisted them away from the circuit. Naturally, that left engineers from rival teams with plenty of photos to study for how they may be able to take inspiration for the floor on their respective cars, with Red Bull’s arguably of greatest interest considering their all-conquering form so far in F1 2023, having won all seven grands prix. McLaren team boss Andrea Stella has already said “hats off” to Red Bull for their work, though Red Bull’s chief engineer Paul Monaghan stressed that it is work which is successfully integrated into their package, and certainly not plug-and-play solutions. Red Bull then now wait to see the results of that … [Read more...] about Red Bull issue clear warning to rivals following RB19 floor reveal
Pirelli confirm Montreal, Austria and ‘new-spec’ Silverstone tyre choices
Pirelli have confirmed their tyre compounds for the Canadian, Austrian and British Grands Prix – with a new specification of tyre set to debut at Silverstone in July. As per previous seasons, Pirelli confirmed that the softest C3, C4 and C5 tyres will be the hard, medium and soft compounds in Canada and Austria respectively, with tyre wear not an enormous issue around Montreal and Spielberg. But at Silverstone, the new C1 compound as debuted in Barcelona will also be used as the hard tyre in Britain, along with the C2 and C3 compounds as the medium and softs respectively. The British Grand Prix will also see Pirelli debut a new specification of tyre which the manufacturers say is “more resistant to fatigue”, bringing forward a planned material change for 2024 with the speed of the cars having increased at a faster rate than anticipated. This pace improvement from the cars compared to last year, by more than a second per lap at several circuits so far this season, has put more … [Read more...] about Pirelli confirm Montreal, Austria and ‘new-spec’ Silverstone tyre choices
Aston Martin tease ‘something is coming’ to rival Mercedes upgrades
Wanting more from Aston Martin after falling behind Mercedes in Spain, Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack has confirmed that “something is coming” for the Canadian Grand Prix. Off the podium at his home race in Barcelona, Alonso wasn’t dejected by the result but instead determinedly said that “it will not happen again” and that Spain was Aston Martin’s “last race without podiums”. But with Mercedes having taken a notable step forward with the introduction of their B-spec W14, Alonso is facing tight competition for that final spot on the podium. In Spain it went to Mercedes where Lewis Hamilton and George Russell capitalised on an off-weekend for Sergio Perez to finish 2-3 behind race winner Max Verstappen. Alonso has made it clear he not only wants that to be a one-off but he wants to be fighting Verstappen for the race wins, and soon. “I think that in two weeks we will see a completely different picture and, hopefully, we will fight with the Red Bulls soon,” he said. “In … [Read more...] about Aston Martin tease ‘something is coming’ to rival Mercedes upgrades
Lewis Hamilton reveals controversial take on an unloved F1 circuit
Lewis Hamilton wants to see Formula 1 stick around in Barcelona, as Madrid has been linked with a possible Grand Prix. Hamilton has stood up for the future of racing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as Madrid has been linked as a possible venue for a future Grand Prix. Madrid is currently playing host to the F1 Exhibition, with the Ifema venue acting as a central hub for a potential street circuit around the Spanish city. While Barcelona holds a contract with F1 through until 2026, its future appeared shaky in recent years despite its longevity on the calendar. The Circuit de Catalunya was first used in Formula 1 in 1991, and has become a key testing venue as well as hosting its annual Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton is eager to see Formula 1 stay around in Barcelona, citing it as a ‘classic circuit’. When asked about the possibility of Madrid replacing Barcelona, Hamilton poked fun at the last Spanish city to be introduced to the calendar. “As long as it’s not like … [Read more...] about Lewis Hamilton reveals controversial take on an unloved F1 circuit
New ‘double concern’ identified for Ferrari amidst SF-23 struggles
With Charles Leclerc baffled by the inconsistent Ferrari SF-23, ex-Red Bull driver Mark Webber foresees trouble for the team in the present time and beyond as they work on future developments. Ferrari introduced their new-look SF-23 challenger for the Spanish Grand Prix, which most notably featured reworked sidepods to follow a concept more in-line with that of the dominant Red Bull team. But, while rivals Mercedes seemingly took a clear step forward with their alterations, the same was not true for Ferrari, Carlos Sainz finishing P5 while Leclerc managed only P11 after starting from the pit lane, following a shock Q1 exit in qualifying. Speaking after the race, Leclerc, wide-eyed in confusion, admitted he does not understand what is going wrong with the SF-23, a car that has already been described as peaky, which is therefore not giving the drivers confidence to push at the limit. Leclerc though said the inconsistency has spread to a point where comparing his first and last … [Read more...] about New ‘double concern’ identified for Ferrari amidst SF-23 struggles
