Things are looking pretty good here. We’ve already seen the next-generation Peugeot 308 testing on public roads on a number of occasions but all the spied prototypes had a hatchback body style. Today we can share the first batch of spy photos showing the station wagon version of the model and it already looks quite promising. The 308 may be more popular as a hatchback on the European market but that doesn’t mean there’s no demand for a long-roof option. The Old continent is still hungry for practical wagons - even in the compact segment - and the French firm will answer that with the stylish new 308 SW. In 2020 Hamilton equalled Michael Schumacher's record of seven F1 world championships, while his team went on an unprecedented run of seven straight titles in the constructors' championship. Both are rewarded with a nomination for this year's Laureus World Sports Awards, which celebrates the world's greatest sportsmen and women. Hamilton, who shared last year's trophy with Lionel Messi, received a nomination for his exploits in the category Laureus World Sportsman of the Year on a shortlist featuring five fellow greats of world sport. The shortlist also includes Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, who won Roland Garros for a 13th time last year, Los Angeles Lakers NBA star LeBron James, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as well as track and field athletes Armand Duplantis and Joshua Cheptegei. The 2017 British GT title winner is set to make his debut in the BTCC this season, driving one of four Hyundai 30N Fastbacks the team will run this season. Parfitt Jr will join last year’s BTCC title contender Tom Ingram , Chris Smiley, retained by the team for 2020, and Jack Butel, who has arrived from Ciceley Motorsport. Confirmation of the move for the British GT Championship regular since 2014 ensures Senna Proctor won’t continue at Excelr8 in the BTCC this year. For 46-year-old, Parfitt Jr, the opportunity to graduate to the BTCC is a “chance to live the dream” having been a long time fan of the series. It also follows a tough 2020 that saw the Crohns disease sufferer undergo major surgery and sit out last season. The Frenchman, who will race all 13 of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series’ road and street courses in the Dale Coyne Racing with RWR-Honda, was speaking to media after his first day of testing an IndyCar, at Barber Motorsports Park. F1 will embark on a single three-day pre-season test at the Bahrain International Circuit from 12-14 March, giving teams limited time to get up to speed ahead of the new season. Although there has been a large amount of carry-over from the 2020 cars for 2021, teams are nevertheless grappling with a shorter window in which to complete their typical pre-season preparations. Speaking at the unveiling of the new Alfa Romeo C41 car earlier this week, technical director Jan Monchaux explained the challenge posed by the reduction in test running. "It's going to be frantic," Monchaux said. "Three days, it's quite short compared to previous seasons. The car carries over a lot of components, so theoretically the risk to have a bad surprise is reduced.
