Listen to this article BMW updated the 3 Series family earlier this week, introducing a new smoother face and giving the compact premium model a huge tech boost. As of the previous generation, the 3 Series no longer includes a coupe version as it is now part of the 4 Series family, though the two lineups share many components. It would make sense for BMW to also launch a refreshed version of the 4 Series Coupe soon and there’s a new rendering previewing the potential design of this two-door Bimmer. There’s little to suggest the 4 Series Coupe facelift could ditch the giant kidney grilles at the front but X-Tomi Design ’s vision for the premium coupe proposes a radical new look. The vehicle pictured here has the same front fascia as the refreshed 3 Series family ( see the related links below) and we believe many BMW enthusiasts would be happy to see such a move. After all, the previous generation 4 Series in both coupe and convertible forms shared its front end design with … [Read more...] about BMW 4 Series Coupe Facelift Rendering Proposes Switch To Smaller Grilles

Spanish GP upgrade will decide whether Mercedes change design philosophy – Russell · RaceFans
George Russell says that the Spanish Grand Prix will mark a key weekend in determining the future development of Mercedes’ W13. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free The team lies third in the constructors’ championship, well behind Red Bull and Ferrari. Mercedes have struggled to match the pace of both teams and suffered especially acute problems with porpoising. With many teams, including Mercedes, bringing a wealth of upgrades to Barcelona this race weekend , Russell says the team’s performance could influence the development path they follow for the rest of the 2022 season. “I think this weekend is for sure going to be important, as most weekends are,” Russell said. “But I think Rome wasn’t built in a day and it is taking time to first recognise what the problems are, develop things back at the factory to try and resolve these problems and then try to implement them.” Following the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya three months ago … [Read more...] about Spanish GP upgrade will decide whether Mercedes change design philosophy – Russell · RaceFans
Red Bull confirm ‘internal investigation’ over design controversy
Team principal Christian Horner says an internal investigation is under way at Red Bull following the Aston Martin AMR22 controversy. Aston Martin’s upgraded AMR22 looked very similar to the Red Bull RB18 when it took to the track for free practice for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. However, Aston Martin have denied any wrongdoing , insisting their upgrades are completely a result of their own work and have been passed by the FIA. Horner pointed out some staff had departed Red Bull to join Aston Martin before this season. Dan Fallows’ move, Red Bull’s former aero chief, was made public at the time. But with several staff making the switch, Horner said it was the FIA who had gone to Red Bull with some concerns. “Imitation is the biggest form of flattery, at the end of the day,” he told Sky F1. “And it’s no coincidence we’ve had a few individuals that have transferred from Red Bull to Aston Martin over the winter in the early part of this season. “It was … [Read more...] about Red Bull confirm ‘internal investigation’ over design controversy

Why Developers Need a Contextual Framework to Truly Understand Their Users
An aspect of UI/UX design that many developers have firmly internalized is the fluidity of design and development trends and their ability to shift and change throughout time. Always at the cusp of something new, something more innovative and something much more comprehensible, design trends change when your users do. User-centric design entails accommodating to the end user and how their ideal interface will function. There are, naturally, boundless strategies that allow developers to attain the user perspective as they engage with an interface, and within the many principles of design , a contextual framework is a tool that many have utilized and evolved. A contextual framework refers to observing people, or users, interacting and engaging with a design in their contextual environment. It aims to capture user values , preferences and perceptions firsthand, embracing an anthropological approach to user testing. Yet, with a myriad of ways to attain a user perspective, why … [Read more...] about Why Developers Need a Contextual Framework to Truly Understand Their Users
FIA confirm Aston Martin complied with rules after Horner raises “copying” concern · RaceFans
The FIA says it has no legality concerns over the upgrade Aston Martin has introduced to its car for this weekend’s race. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said the update Aston Martin has brought to the Spanish Grand Prix was inspired by his team’s car. “Copying is the biggest form of flattery,” Horner told the BBC. “It’s quite a thing to instruct your team to come up with a very close-looking clone of our car.” Horner pointed out Aston Martin have also hired several ex-Red Bull staff. They include head of technical operations Andrew Alessi and head of aerodynamics Dan Fallows, though the latter only arrived at Aston Martin last month, long after work on the upgrade would have begun. “Of course a few people have moved over the winter period,” said Horner. “What you can’t control is what they take in their heads. An Aston Martin spokesperson said the team had co-operated with the FIA’s inquiries over how the … [Read more...] about FIA confirm Aston Martin complied with rules after Horner raises “copying” concern · RaceFans

Aston Martin reveals ‘Green Red Bull’ overhaul ahead of Spanish GP
Listen to this article For a team that showed in the past it was not afraid to copy rivals' ideas when, under the Racing Point moniker it created a 'Pink Mercedes', the Silverstone-based squad appears to have take the same approach again. Sergio Perez, Red Bull Racing RB18 Photo by: Glenn Dunbar / Motorsport Images There had been a lot of talk in the build-up to this weekend that Aston Martin would unleash a comprehensive revamp of its AMR22, which has struggled for pace so far this season. It was widely expected that the team would ditch its sidepod concept for something a bit different, although perhaps not as extreme as the Mercedes squad that provides its power units. Instead, the high, wide waisted, cooling gilled sidepod solution that the team used during the opening five rounds has been traded in for something that very closely resembles the design used by Red Bull on its RB18. The Red Bull concept appears true not only in terms of the surfaces … [Read more...] about Aston Martin reveals ‘Green Red Bull’ overhaul ahead of Spanish GP
