The new midsize droptop will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Mercedes-Benz has been teasing us on the forthcoming 2018 E-Class Cabriolet for a while now, but the wait is over. Nestled among numerous other Mercedes debuts at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the all-new E-Class Cabriolet is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s recast W213-generation midsize segment. Not surprisingly, it pretty much looks just like the prototype cabrio we drove about a month ago in Arizona, minus the few bits of camouflage still festooned to the pre-production car that, as far as we can tell, didn’t really hide anything revolutionary. Compared to the previous-generation car, the new droptop is a touch longer at 190 inches and wider at 73.2 inches. It’s a bit higher as well, though it sits roughly a half-inch lower than the current E300 sedan. Optional adjustable dampers offer a wide range of settings, while multi-chamber air suspension offers three firmness settings … [Read more...] about 2018 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet: 329 hp and endless sunshine

Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabriolet by Brabus heading to Geneva with 650 hp
Go all out and you'll hit the magical 200-mph mark. With the 2017 Geneva Motor Show fast-approaching, tuners are joining automakers in the rollout of new products meant to lure in more customers. Case in point, Brabus is ready to introduce one lean and mean convertible based on the already very potent C63 S. The highlight of the aftermarket package resides underneath the hood where AMG’s biturbo V8 4.0-liter engine has been taken from the series 510 hp (375 kW) to 650 hp (478 kW), while torque has been bumped from 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) to a massive 820 Nm (604 lb-ft). With the extra muscle in place, the C63 S Cabriolet will run from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in as little as 3.7 seconds, so it’s going to be 0.4s quicker than the regular model. Take it to the track or on one of the remaining unrestricted sections of the German Autobahn and you’ll be able to hit 200 mph (320 kph) thanks to a loosened up electronic top speed limiter. To better reflect … [Read more...] about Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabriolet by Brabus heading to Geneva with 650 hp
Mercedes-AMG spices up range with trio of special editions
Edition 50, Night, and Ocean Blue Editions bring several cosmetic revisions both inside and out. After giving the SLC and SL roadsters the special treatment, Mercedes-AMG is at it again with a new fancy version of yet another roadster. This time around, it’s the recently launched GT C Roadster set to be offered in an “Edition 50” flavor to mark half a century of Affalterbach heritage. The plan is to make only 500 cars scheduled to be distributed all over the world in two bespoke colors: designo graphite grey magno and designo cashmere white magno. Rather peculiar names, right? To further set it apart from the regular model, AMG is applying some black chrome accents noticeable on the front splitter, the Panamericana grille, the fins on the side air outlets in the front wings, as well as on the side skirts and at the back on the diffuser and exhaust tips. Rounding off the exterior tweaks are the unique AMG forged wheels featuring a similar … [Read more...] about Mercedes-AMG spices up range with trio of special editions
2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon Is For The Parent Who’s Always Late
603 AMG horsepower to make sure your kids will never be late for school. It was a little over three months ago when Mercedes-AMG took the wraps off the E63 Sedan and now the skilled folks from Affalterbach are ready to introduce the more practical wagon body style. Just like the sedan, it comes exclusively with a 4Matic all-wheel drive setup, but even so it’s still a tail-happy car once you enable the Drift Mode. To do that, you’ll have to turn off ESP, put the gearbox in manual mode, and enable the Race setting to effectively transform the E63 S Wagon into a pure rear-wheel-drive car. Its heart and soul is the familiar biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with 603 horsepower (450 kilowatts) and 627 pound feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque delivered to the road exclusively via a nine-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. Variable torque distribution and an electronically controlled rear limited slip differential are part of the standard equipment, as … [Read more...] about 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon Is For The Parent Who’s Always Late
