It could compete with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. Gander at your local grocery store parking lot, and you’re bound to find more SUVs than sedans. The big behemoths have shouldered small cars out of driveways, but luxury automakers have continued to support the saloon. Audi is readying a refreshed A8 , and spy shots have pointed to a top-tier Horch trim coming, too . A new pair of unofficial renderings attempt to preview what that high-end sedan could look like when it debuts. The renderings come from our colleagues at Kolesa.ru , and they show a stately sedan that should go wheel-to-wheel with the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class . The Audi A8 L Horch doesn’t look all that different from what we expect the regular A8 to look like, though we weren’t expecting a radically different design. The rendering shows a large sedan, as the A8 Horch is likely to share its platform with the extended A8 L, with a copious amount of chrome that’s used for the grille and trim. … [Read more...] about High-End Audi A8 Horch Takes Shape In Unofficial Renderings

New Range Rover Evoque Flaunts Its Tech-Focused Cabin In Spy Shots
Don’t expect any major changes on the updated Evoque; most of the same tech components appear to carry over. Considering the Range Rover Evoque has been around in its current iteration since 2011, it should come at no surprise that the SUV is getting a refresh. Our rendering artists have digitally imagined the exterior of the updated Evoque, but now spy photos show us what the cabin could look like when it reaches production. Similar styling to the current model carries over; a central touchscreen system – designated for navigation, radio, and other primary features – sits atop a larger touchscreen that controls HVAC functions. It looks almost identical to the current model, apart from the light restyling on the upper section which sees the flat, tablet-style screen now more integrated into the dash surrounded by sharper angles. New Range Rover Evoque Seen Abusing Its Tires At The Nurburgring
Attacking the challenging corners of the Green Hell with a small luxury crossover is not something you see every day. If you’ve been keeping a close eye on the baby Velar, it means you have probably seen our spy shots from the end of March with a camouflaged prototype tackling the Nürburgring. Judging by the license plate, Land Rover is back at the Nordschleife with the same test vehicle and it’s really pushing it to the max through the numerous corners of the famous track. What in the world is a small crossover doing in a place such as the Green Hell? While the Evoque will prioritize comfort and luxury over anything else, it will also have to be fun to drive to better compete with segment rivals such as the BMW X1, Mercedes GLA, and the Audi Q3. Land Rover wants to make sure it will live up to the overly used words such as “agile” and “dynamic” while retaining the benefits of a crossover, such as the increased ride height. Wolff doubts Bottas came close to retirement after team orders
Mercedes sparked controversy at the 2018 Russian Grand Prix when it asked Bottas to move aside for teammate Lewis Hamilton in a bid to protect its 1-2 finish. Bottas was left visibility disappointed and unhappy by the call from Mercedes, and claimed during the most recent series of Drive to Survive on Netflix that the incident made him consider quitting F1. "That was tough, tough to accept," Bottas said. "I was pretty angry. Honestly, I was thinking, why do I do this? "I was even thinking of quitting, of giving up. Straight after the race, I said I would not do it again." But Mercedes team principal Wolff said he did not think at the time that Bottas was close to retiring from F1 altogether in the wake of the incident. "No, he was very downhearted, of course. I understand that - but I don't think he was close to retirement," Wolff said. "Because he's too much of a competitor for that. But I can imagine, in the heat of the situation, after the race, you … [Read more...] about Wolff doubts Bottas came close to retirement after team orders
