The Volkswagen Project Trinity aims to create a new electric vehicle architecture, a radical production approach for it, and autonomous driving tech. VW CEO Ralf Brandstätter told Germany's Welt am Sonntag newspaper that despite these lofty goals that the model resulting from this work would only cost around 35,000 euros (approx. £31,000 at current exchange rates). Brandstätter told the paper that the vehicle coming out of Project Trinity would be a "dynamic and streamlined car with a length of just over four metres (157.5 inches)." So we've done a quick research and found out that DMC or specifically, John DeLorean, apparently bought the snowcat division of Thiokol during the '70s. It spelled the birth of Logan Manufacturing Company (LMC) in 1978. He'll debut the new number at Sandown this weekend after starting the season with #100 as part of a Pirtek promotion. Explaining the number switch, DJR boss Ryan Story said De Pasquale floated the idea of running the #11, but was told the team would need permission from the man who made the number famous, Larry Perkins. Perkins agreed and handed over the number in a special ceremony this morning.
