The Aston Martin driver endured an eventful race at Imola while making the most of favourable damp conditions to finish seventh at the chequered flag. However, Stroll was judged to have breached regulations when overtaking AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly following a post-race investigation, resulting in a five-second penalty. It was deemed Stroll left the track at the Tamburello chicane while attempting to overtaking Gasly earning a "a lasting advantage" from his off-track excursion. As a result of the decision Stroll will drop a position to eighth behind Gasly, who inherits seventh in the official race results. "The Stewards were informed after the race of an alleged breach. Having reviewed the video and heard from the drivers, the Stewards conclude that Car 18 was not able to complete his pass on car 10 at Turn 2/3 without leaving the track completely shortcutting turn 3 and returning on the track ahead of car 10," read a stewards report. "He then failed to give the … [Read more...] about Stroll hit with post-race penalty, drops to eighth

2020 Honda e Advance Review: Lovable Retro Urban EV
Honda e has so many positives that you could almost forgive its so-so range and the high acquisition price. As a design exercise, there is little question about how successful the Honda e electric city car is. Sure, it may look like a retro-inspired car and that may have been done before, yet it has to be one of the most successful such designs ever. Some retro-inspired cars look a bit ridiculous and out of place; this Honda looks very handsome and fitting, though. But it’s not just a pretty (quirky) face - it’s also remarkably fun to drive, it has a very pleasant interior that can carry four adults and gadgets that place it among the top one percent most innovative cars. No, it’s not perfect, due to its low range and relatively high price, but if you get a chance to drive one, you’ll understand why I fell for it after spending just a few days driving it around the city. Design From the very first yards driving the Honda e in a big city environment, you notice just … [Read more...] about 2020 Honda e Advance Review: Lovable Retro Urban EV

Tesla Model 3 Outperforms In New IIHS Level 2 Autonomy Tests
However, it’s not perfect. With drive assistance features becoming standard in many vehicles, it’s good to remember they’re not all the same. Some work better than others, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is devising a series of tests to evaluate these systems in various driving situations. The focus of the tests is Level 2 “autonomy” as defined by SAE International, which includes adaptive cruise control (ACC) and active lane-keeping (ALK). In IIHS’s research, the company tested five vehicles: 2017 BMW 5 Series with "Driving Assistant Plus," 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class with "Drive Pilot," 2018 Tesla Model 3 and 2016 Model S with "Autopilot" (software versions 8.1 and 7.1, respectively), and 2018 Volvo S90 with "Pilot Assist.” The Tesla Model 3 performed best through the bevy of tests – however, it wasn’t perfect. The cars were put through four different scenarios to test their ACC. The first involved driving at 31 miles per hour toward a … [Read more...] about Tesla Model 3 Outperforms In New IIHS Level 2 Autonomy Tests
Buick Envision Plus SUV, Verano Pro Sedan Debut At Auto Shanghai
The bigger Envision might reach the US, but don't hold your breath for the Verano. The doors are open to media at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, and Buick is there with two new offerings. One is the Buick Verano Pro with tweaked styling and powertrain updates. The other is a stretched version of the Envision called the Envision Plus, which should be a three-row SUV. Details for both offerings are a bit slim, however, which we'll talk more about in a bit. Our attention falls first to the Verano Pro. The Verano left the US market a few years back and there's no sign it will return, but the small sedan enjoys an extended life for the Chinese market. The latest version still maintains a familiar shape on the outside though you'll find an updated face that Buick says is "airplane-inspired." Opt for the GS package and you'll get a honeycomb-shaped grille with a plethora of black trim, not to mention side skirts and "wing-like features" at the rear. Inside is … [Read more...] about Buick Envision Plus SUV, Verano Pro Sedan Debut At Auto Shanghai
