There is severe traffic on the M25 near west London between Junctions 14 and 19 after two crashes, with queues of up to seven miles reported. As rush hour intensifies, two separate crashes on the M25 anticlockwise and clockwise carriageways have led to severe disruption for drivers. An early crash between two lorries forced the closure of two lanes of the road at Junction 16, for the M40 and Uxbridge. Queues reached back to Junction 19 for Watford, with travel times between the junctions currently at around 40 minutes. Following the second crash this morning, between two lorries on the clockwise carriageway, traffic is no stop-start between Junction 16 for the M40 and Uxbridge, and Junction 14 for Heathrow Airport. Although all lanes have now re-opened, traffic has been mostly stationary for some time. Two lanes have been closed on the M25 clockwise between J12 and J13 near Staines due to a collision. The collision has caused a vehicle to overturn. Highways England said: "An Air Ambulance has landed in an adjacent field. There is just over 3 miles of congestion on approach, but this is likely to increase as traffic levels rise". There is heavy traffic on the M25 following reports of a "serious collision" during the morning rush hour on Monday (August 20). Highways England tweeted the road was closed clockwise in Hertfordshire between junction 17 (A405) and junction 18 (A4040) at around 8.45am. According to Highways England the M25 closure followed a "serious collision" and emergency services and Herts police had been called to the scene. There was queuing traffic and "long delays" in the M25 following the incident. Motorists have been warned to expect heavy traffic and delays with diversions being put in place in the area. Highways England traffic officers are at the scene to help with traffic flow. It is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash or whether there were any injuries. There are a number of problems for M25 drivers with a crash, car fire and runaway horse near Heathrow all causing queues of traffic. A crash at Junction 16 on the clockwise carriageway has closed one lane and is causing congestion back to Staines. Further round, in Hertfordshire, a lane has been closed in the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 17 and Junction 16 due to a broken down car. And, perhaps most bizarrely of all, a runaway horse near Heathrow has caused queues on the spur road into Terminal 5. Yes, a horse. At Heathrow. Three lanes of the motorway between Chertsey and Wisley have been closed due to a car fire. Traffic service INRIX reported at 1.40pm that three lanes on the anticlockwise carriageway between junction 11 and junction 10 were closed.
