There are three things to really consider when looking at the latest batch of cars: how have the team handled the new regulations that reduce downforce by approximately 10%, how have they reconfigured the car under the homologation and token system and what progress have they made from an aerodynamic perspective aside from the change in regs. In terms of how this team has handled the new regulations, we’ll have to wait to see the physical car, as the renders released by the team fall short of revealing any of this detail. The floor clearly meets the dimensional requirements issued by the FIA but, like the floor it tested in Abu Dhabi, this falls short of displaying any of the aerodynamic trinkets that will likely occupy the space ahead of the rear tyre. 2018 Chevy Traverse RS Looks Sporty, But Without The Extra Power
It can be had for $43,095. Following the debut of the Equinox RS in 2017, Chevy has once again rehashed its longstanding RS moniker for use on an SUV – the Traverse . Complete with new styling elements both inside and out, the Traverse RS – which stands for Rally Sport , in case you weren’t sure – " injects a distinctive dose of fun-to-drive sportiness,” says Chevy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t add any extra horsepower to go along with it. Under the hood the same 2.0-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine remains, delivering 257 horsepower (192 kilowatts) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque. That engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic, which in turn allows for fuel economy figures of 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. What the RS badge does add, though, are new sporty elements to the exterior like a black grille, black window trim, black roof rails, and black bowtie emblems. HID headlamps with LED daytime running lamps have also been added as standard to … [Read more...] about 2018 Chevy Traverse RS Looks Sporty, But Without The Extra Power
Coyne would run third car for Grosjean on Gateway oval
Ex-Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean has only been confirmed in the #51 for Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing-Honda for the 13 road and street course rounds of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series season, and has promised his family to avoid the speedway races on the calendar – namely, the double-header at Texas Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500. However, right from the start of his decision to switch to IndyCar, the Frenchman said he was in two minds about racing at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, the 1.25-mile oval on the border of Illinois and Missouri. Today he reiterated that point, although Pietro Fittipaldi – Grosjean’s former Haas F1 team colleague, who subbed for him in the final two F1 rounds of 2020 – has been confirmed as racing for DCR-RWR in all four oval rounds. “First of all, I'm super happy that Pietro gets the chance to do the speedways,” said Grosjean, who scored 10 podiums in his nine-year Formula 1 career. “I was happy he was the one … [Read more...] about Coyne would run third car for Grosjean on Gateway oval
Renault Megane EV Spied For First Time, Looks Similar To Concept
Renault should reveal the hatchback later this year. Last year, Renault previewed a future EV with the Megane eVision concept . The automaker announced the production version would debut in 2021, and it looks like the company will keep its promise. Our spy photographers have caught the all-electric hatch for the first time testing in northern Sweden. Its swirly camouflage hides its design, though it looks quite similar to the concept, something we expect will hold true for the production version. Renault’s new electric Megane five-door will ride on the CMF-EV platform jointly developed with Nissan as a part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance that’s undergoing a realignment. It’s the same platform that underpins the 2022 Nissan Ariya . The design, however, should be unique, with Renault boss Luca De Meo saying last year that the concept’s appearance is about 95 percent similar to that of the production car’s. Bottas looking to be “a bit more selfish” in 2021 F1 title bid
Bottas will embark on his fifth season with Mercedes in 2021, but is yet to defeat teammate Lewis Hamilton in a title battle, finishing as runner-up in each of the past two years. Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff acknowledged at the end of last year that the team needed to give Bottas more support following discussions with the Finn, resulting in an added radio message in Abu Dhabi qualifying. Speaking to the media for the first time this year, Bottas explained how talks with the team were important to ensure the right level of pressure was being applied, allowing him to up his performance level. “Some of my years in Formula 1, definitely, I’ve put too much pressure on myself,” Bottas explained. "There’s been times that I’ve taken too much pressure from outside, and also vice-versa, that there’s not been maybe enough pressure from my side. It’s all about finding that balance and playing with that. “The only thing to really let the team know in terms of how much they’re … [Read more...] about Bottas looking to be “a bit more selfish” in 2021 F1 title bid
