Tweet TweetEver since the unintended acceleration disaster the Japanese at Toyota have gone through, all of the cars within their empire have gone through updates. Technically improved underpinnings have been mated to updated interiors and quite a few exterior tweaks. Be them facelifts or generation changes, quite a difference happened. Even the relatives at Lexus were given some major makeovers. Pretty much their entire luxury lineup got a few new treats. We’re going to get our first proper contact with this model when a certain event will kick off in the near future. Lexus enthusiasts, particularly fans of the compact should mark January 15th on their calendar. That’s when the city of Detroit begins hosting the 2013 North American International Auto Show. Not forgetting it’s the Lexus we’re actually looking forward to, we do have an idea about what the new IS going to bring to the party. We expect the new face to make an appearance here but the exterior is … [Read more...] about 2014 Lexus IS will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show
Tweet TweetThe 2017 Shanghai Motor Show is opening its gates in a couple of weeks, with Asian carmakers particularly already preparing their new models for an official unveiling. Other important manufacturers from Europe or the US are already setting the scene for their Asian-based new automobiles. It is also the case of Japanese manufacturer Lexus, which has previewed its all-new 2017 NX just ahead the auto event. We are looking here at the facelifted variant of the current model. The Lexus NX was first revealed on the market around three years ago and it was high-time for the company to have it released with some significant updates. Visually, the model will look fresh with the new and smaller headlights with full-LED technology, also seen on other high-end models like the new RX or GS. Besides the new lights, the 2017 Lexus NX will also come with slightly revised front and rear bumper bars, new taillights and wheels. As for the cabin, the company would not want to reveal the new … [Read more...] about Lexus Teases All-New 2017 NX prior to Shanghai Motor Show
Auto shows can be crazy places with half-thought out ideas all over the place. Gyroscope-stabilized briefcase warmers for the back seat. Cop cars with integrated doughnut dispensers. Turbine-powered iPad docks. Lots of nutty stuff that will (thankfully) never see the light of day. Sadly, Lexus and their new partner, genetic screening company 23andMe have teamed up for “Genetic Select” and it looks like they’re “serious.” Lexus made the announcement in conjunction with the 2018 New York International Auto Show. “Finding the perfect vehicle that meets your every need was once only a fantasy, but now it’s becoming reality,” crows Lexus inaccurately. Finding my perfect vehicle is easy guys. Finding the money for it, that’s the hard part. Genetic Select is the “Ultimate Answer to Vehicle Customization” and a revolutionary new car buying experience. It also pegs the goofy meter. Perfect Fit Available on April 1st at Lexus … [Read more...] about Want Your Next Lexus To Start? Lick The Steering Wheel. No. Seriously.
Posted by Victor Espeland on 02.06.18 When Lexus announced the 2019 GS F and RC F 10th anniversary special editions yesterday, the real bit of news was buried in the fourth paragraph of the press release: these cars will not only feature Lexus’ first factory matte finish since the LFA supercar, but said matte finish will be “durable enough for the rigors of everyday use, including the ability to withstand the average mechanized car wash without degrading the quality of the finish”. What? A matte car you can take through an automatic car wash? Needless to say, our interest was piqued. As purveyors of matte paint protection and maintenance products, the Dr. Beasley’s team is always excited by brands that promote matte as a viable automotive paint finish. But being a bunch of detailing nuts, we naturally had some thoughts and opinions or our own. First, what kind of technology is this? “Degrading the quality” is vague terminology – are … [Read more...] about Lexus Announces Matte Finish That Can Survive An Automatic Car Wash
