When Covid-19 struck in 2020, it affected every sphere of our daily lives and worldwide economy in ways most people couldn't have imagined. As the lockdowns forced everyone to work remotely, and most brick-and-mortar businesses went online, thousands of companies were about to face unanticipated changes. On the one hand, the global pandemic profoundly affected every business and team management process. But on the other, the pandemic has been the most significant driver of digitalization for U.S. and European businesses. According to the Flexera 2021 State of Tech Spend Report , one of the top concerns of CIOs in 2022 continues to be digital transformation. A report by McKinsey states that the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital technologies by several years. The vast majority of these changes will remain even after the Covid-19 pandemic has passed. During the global pandemic, many consumers transitioned to online services, and companies and … [Read more...] about Developing Team Efficiency in the Post-Pandemic IT Landscape

‘No way’ Sainz will suffer team orders at home race
Jolyon Palmer believes there is “no way” Ferrari would tell Carlos Sainz to move aside for Charles Leclerc at the Spanish Grand Prix. It may only be five grands prix into a 22-race campaign, but there is already talk that Ferrari may have to prioritise one of their drivers if they hope to win the Drivers’ Championship . The obvious candidate is Leclerc having earned more than double his team-mate’s points so far, but also because he now has Max Verstappen just 19 points behind him. Despite finishing with more points than his new team-mate last season, it stands to reason that if this form continues then Sainz will eventually become the second driver to Leclerc. While that possibility may become a reality someway down the line, former Renault driver Palmer believes it will not happen in Sainz’s home race this weekend. “I can pretty much guarantee it won’t be this weekend if it does come for Carlos,” he said on the F1 Nation podcast . “Can you imagine telling him … [Read more...] about ‘No way’ Sainz will suffer team orders at home race
No short-term fix for AlphaTauri’s aerodynamic deficit – Gasly · RaceFans
AlphaTauri’s biggest weakness compared to their rivals is their lack of aerodynamic efficiency, Pierre Gasly says. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free Gasly currently sits 13th in the drivers’ championship after five rounds on six points – ten fewer than he had scored after the first five races of 2021. The team’s best result of the season came from the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, where Gasly’s team mate Yuki Tsunoda finished in seventh place. Asked by RaceFans what area of the team’s AT03 is in greatest need of improvement, Gasly pointed to the car’s aerodynamic efficiency. However he stressed a solution would not be coming in the short term as the team “don’t really have any anything in particular for this weekend” in terms of upgrades. “I think we know it’s mainly aerodynamics,” Gasly said. “We know that’s the main thing. “It’s mainly trying to find more load from the floor, trying to be more efficient, less drag and more load on the car. It’s wind … [Read more...] about No short-term fix for AlphaTauri’s aerodynamic deficit – Gasly · RaceFans
They all starred in ‘Godspell’ – then they became comedy legends
They all still remember when Gilda Radner sang "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah." It was the final callback auditions for a 1972 production of "Godspell," and the Stephen Schwartz musical about ragtag, hippie disciples of Jesus was the most sought-after gig in Toronto, hot off its off-Broadway success the year before. Eugene Levy sat in the auditorium near his college buddy Martin Short, whom he introduced to his friend Andrea Martin. Victor Garber brought a guitar. Paul Shaffer was there to accompany two auditioners on piano. This improbable lineup of ambitious 20-somethings would all end up onstage at the June 1 opening night, before they became famous through Second City, "Saturday Night Live," "SCTV," movies, Broadway and more. For several, "Godspell" at the Royal Alexandra Theatre was their first major job, the moment that nudged their life's trajectory toward show-business stardom. They formed relationships that have lasted 50 years - all while in a musical that is literally about … [Read more...] about They all starred in ‘Godspell’ – then they became comedy legends
Why Miami practice has given Mercedes increased hope
Mercedes’ James Vowles believes the practice sessions in Miami underlined the potential of the W13, having shown particularly strong performance early in the weekend. The W13 has proven to be a troublesome machine ever since the beginning of the 2022 season, with the car afflicted by particularly pronounced porpoising down the straights. This has had the effect of forcing Mercedes to raise the ride height of the car, which has resulted in a relative lack of downforce and, in turn, outright laptime. However, the sidepod-less concept Mercedes have pursued still has the backing of the team, with Toto Wolff adamant that the potential of the car is yet to be fully unlocked. The Miami practice sessions lent some validity to Mercedes’ arguments, with George Russell and Lewis Hamilton much more competitive throughout Friday’s track time. Russell ended the day with the fastest time, with Hamilton in fourth. While the team made setup changes that resulted in a dip in performance from … [Read more...] about Why Miami practice has given Mercedes increased hope
GT Asia: Consistency paves the way for a third straight victory in Korea
Listen to this article 12-months ago, a little known combination made their debut in the GTA Asia Series and won both rounds of the season opener at Korea International Circuit, a result which allowed lead driver Anthony Liu to take his title challenge all the way to the final round in Macau. 12-months on the GT Asia Series regulars were well aware of the abilities of the two BBT Ferrari drivers, but after qualifying towards the tail end of the top ten, they could well have been forgiven for letting the 2014 result slip their minds, a situation which ultimately played into the hands of the Chinese-based team who went on to win their third straight Korean round. “To be honest we expected maybe third,” Liu admitted matter-of-factly, but I could see the leaders fighting for position ahead of me, and before long I was on their tail, and neither of them made it difficult to move into the lead.” ...there was a Bentley between us [Fong] that moved at the last minute and … [Read more...] about GT Asia: Consistency paves the way for a third straight victory in Korea
Capito: Qualifying speed hiding Williams’ true ‘potential’
Williams team boss Jost Capito believes the team’s disappointing performances in qualifying are leaving them unable to show their true potential in races . A Williams driver has started a grand prix no higher than 14th this season and while Alex Albon has produced some driving heroics to finish within the points twice, it remains to be seen just how quick the car actually is. The team are currently last in the Constructors’ Championship , but Williams boss Capito believes there is still more to come from them over the course of the season. Speaking to Motorsport.com , Capito said their issues in qualifying were having a negative effect on their race performance and that they needed “some luck.” “It’s difficult to get points when you’re qualifying in position 18/19,” the 63-year-old said. “So you need some luck as well, that something happens ahead of you. But still, the race speed and the race performance of the car is really good. “Alex did an outstanding race … [Read more...] about Capito: Qualifying speed hiding Williams’ true ‘potential’
The Shortage of Lab Space in the United States Is Stifling Innovation
The life sciences sector reported a record $70 billion of private and public capital investments in North America for 2020, a 93% increase from 2018, which held the previous record of $36 billion. During just the first three months of 2021, life science corporations had raised a record $12.2 billion. The market trajectory accelerated throughout that of 2020 and into 2021— with the demand for products in the industry surging as well. With a shortage of appropriate facilities and lab equipment to meet the complex and specialized needs as well as labor requirements of U.S. life sciences companies, joined with that of swiftly growing rent prices across established United States life science clusters, many scientists are facing tough times. As science has evolved, primarily due to the reducing cost and increasing speed of DNA sequencing and synthesis, there has been an explosion in new Biotech businesses . Space struggles facing the Biotech industry Biotech businesses have had … [Read more...] about The Shortage of Lab Space in the United States Is Stifling Innovation
