The rulemakers revealed their intent to revise the BoP for the double-points round of the World Endurance Championship to the manufacturers on Wednesday, Motorsport.com has learned, just four days before the cars are due on track for the official Le Mans test day on Sunday. It is understood the changes were presented by the FIA and the ACO as a fait accompli and there was no attempt to gain the unanimous agreement that in theory was necessary to make revisions outside the prescriptions of a new Hypercar system introduced for 2023. As the ultimate arbiters of the series through a body known as the WEC Committee, the FIA and the ACO have exercised their right to make unilateral changes to the BoP. When is the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours? This year’s race starts on 10 June at 10:00am ET at the Circuit de la Sarthe. It will feature Hypercar competition between Cadillac, Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, Porsche, reigning champions Toyota and Vanwall. Competition will also be fierce in the LMP2 category and the GT class, where Aston Martin, Corvette, Ferrari and Porsche will do battle. Fans of scale model cars and tiny race tracks will soon have a crazy cool slot car track available for purchase, but you better act fast and be ready to spend some money. Michigan-based Slot Mods has announced plans to build a limited number of 1:32-scale tracks nestled into replica Ford GT40 bodies. And this sticker price is $150,000 each. That's about $10,000 shy of an actual Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS , but we're talking about automotive art versus a functional car. And actually, the price is $50,000 less than a custom Porsche 917 track from Slot Mods recently sold for at auction , so one might call the new run a bargain. Tony Kanaan cherished every moment of his final Indianapolis 500 start, and his final race as an IndyCar Series driver – but reaffirmed he has no plans to reconsider his retirement after the race.
