Aston Martin make ‘not geared up’ admission following F1 2023 lost ground
Aston Martin have struggled to maintain their status as the second-fastest team in F1 2023, team boss Mike Krack admitting they are “not geared up” yet to hang with their rivals in the development war. Eyebrows were raised when Fernando Alonso decided to swap Alpine for Aston Martin in time for the F1 2023 campaign, Lawrence Stroll having been investing in his Aston Martin team to make them a future title-contending force, though a team that managed only P7 in last season’s Constructors’ Championship. That decision has proven to be a masterstroke from Alonso though, who has claimed seven podium finishes across the campaign so far as he battles Lewis Hamilton over P3 in the Drivers’ Championship. Porsche North America’s New CEO Comes From BMW, Starts In November
Porsche has been without a dedicated leader in North America since former CEO Kjell Gruner stepped down in July. Today, the company announced Timo Resch will take the reins starting in November 2023, and he's leaving a prominent post at BMW to do it. Resch is presently the (deep breath) vice president of customer, brand, and sales at BMW M. He also worked with BMW Motorrad, the automaker's motorcycle group, though his career actually started with Porsche back in 1995. He spent time with Porsche North America in the late 2000s, so transitioning to the company's top spot isn't unfamiliar territory. His official title will be president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, and he's slated to start in November. Currently, leadership duties are shared by Executive Vice Presidents Thierry Kartochian and Joe Lawrence.
