Bizzarrini was founded by former Ferrari and Alfa Romeo engineer Giotto Bizzarrini in the 1960s to build high-end, low-volume sports cars. Before going his own way, the talented man was directly involved in the development of iconic cars such as the 250 GTO and the 250 GT SWB "Breadvan." Not only that, he also worked on Lamborghini's first V12 engine through his engineering company Societa Autostar. He also worked for Iso Rivolta before founding Societa Prototipi Bizzarrini (Bizzarrini S.p.A) in 1964. Some 140 vehicles were assembled at a plant in Livorno before the company went bust in 1969. Fast forward to 2020, Pegasus Brands acquired the rights to the "Bizzarrini" name in a bid to revive the brand. The 5300GT was brought back to life as a continuation model for a limited production run of 24 units, and now, Bizzarrini is previewing an all-new car. Listen to this article Kvyat and Bortolotti will share Prema’s second Oreca 07-Gibson with the previously-announced Doriane Pin, forming an all-rookie line-up in the LMP2 class of the WEC. The Italian outfit’s primary #9 entry will be crewed by one-time Formula 3 race winner Bent Viscaal, 20-year-old Romanian Filip Ugran and Juan Manuel Correa. Correa, who was announced by Prema in early January alongside Pin, will miss the opening round at Sebring due to a clash with Formula 2, with his place in the crew being taken by Lamborghini ace Andrea Caldarelli. Prema has decided not to retain any of the three drivers that were part of its first assault on the WEC in 2022, with Robert Kubica , Lorenzo Colombo and Louis Deletraz all dropped from the team’s line-up. The entry list for the 2023 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is now available, and there's a surprise on there. Among the various race cars, the BMW XM Label Red is on the lineup of machines taking part in the event. However, Motor1.com reached out to BMW for more details, and the automaker said it hasn't made a final decision about competing in the hill climb yet. "In anticipation of the approaching deadline to register for the 2023 running of Pikes Peak, BMW submitted a preliminary entry. However, a final decision on our participation has not been made at this time. We’ll keep you updated," a BMW spokesperson told Motor1.com .
