It’s hard to find any faults with the Sorento, but I also didn’t feel anything driving it. The current body style of the Kia Sorento went on sale back in 2015, and the refreshed 2019 Sorento is all about the details, which gives it a more luxurious look inside and outside, and better driving manners to boot. After a few hours of driving the top-of-the-line SX Limited AWD around Los Angeles, I had nothing to complain about. However, I also didn’t have any desire to rush out and buy one for myself. So, What’s New? Starting on the exterior of the 2019 Kia Sorento, the tiger nose grille is better defined and integrated into the front bumper. It’s also wider and taller, making the front end of the car more aggressive. The lower fascia is also improved with a more swept back look, and a lower profile scuff plate under the front bumper, which makes the overall design a little cleaner. The front lighting is much improved, especially with the more … [Read more...] about First Drive: A Detail-Oriented Refresh Makes the Best-In-Class Kia Sorento Better

Tweet TweetYou can almost perceive this concept as being similar to the Kia Sorento, but the Cross GT is much larger. This seven seater SUV has a 400mm longer wheelbase and it is 120mm wider. Considering the size, the only market to receive it would be the US. Big SUVs have always flown out of American dealerships. But that’s only if it sees production. Beneath the hood, the Kia Cross GT displays a Hybrid engine. That’s a 3.8 liter V6 gasoline engine coupled with an electric motor to pump 400hp and 678Nm or torque to all four of your wheels. That’s done through an 8 speed automatic gear box. Besides the obvious size, there are more styling features that sets the car apart. You have suicide back doors, a 3-piece glass roof and huge alloy wheels. The tailgate is a glass single piece and the rear lights are LED. The interior has TFT displays and increased baggage space. Should it ever see an assembly line, the Kia Crossover Gt would compete with Volkswagen’s … [Read more...] about Kia’s concept unveiled at Seoul: the Cross GT
April showers might bring May flowers, but car shoppers may wish it rained more deals. Autodata Corp. ranks April among the bottom three months for new-car discounts during each of the past four years. In 2017, baseball's opening month was the single worst month for incentives. Talk about dreary. Related: How to Use Incentives, Rebates and Finance Deals But don't declare a rain delay on your shopping just yet. The storm clouds have a silver lining, at least this year: New-car incentives last month gained 6.5 percent year-over-year, per Autodata, for the second largest increase in the past seven months. Amid an overall incentives plateau, March's gains could add some steam heading into April — a month that needs all the help it can get. We still found plenty of highly discounted models, with many this month from GM and Hyundai-Kia. What should deal-seekers consider? Take a look below. Chevrolet Malibu How much can I save? On select trim levels, enough to fund a … [Read more...] about What’s the Best New-Car Deal for April 2018?
Tweet TweetYou win some, you lose some… The Koreans have recently had activity that can be summed up in a single word: “booming”. But sometimes, no matter how careful you are or how good you plan things, there are some teething problems. Apparently there was some manufacturing defect in them which meant that the rear brake calipers weren’t properly done. As a result, over time, they may leak braking fluid. While the leak itself is not very important, over sustained periods it would light up the dashboard warning of your Kia Sorento. Other side effects would be a brake pedal that’s slightly spongy. Should the problem not be attended to for a serious amount of time, the Kia Sorento would experience brake failure and an increased risk of potential crashes. Kia acted upon the NHTSA notification and announced that its dealers will inspect and replace the rear calipers if necessary at no charge. Pretty much standard stuff but if you’re one of the 8.000 … [Read more...] about Kia Sorento to be called in for a recall
I may have driven from Crested Butte, Colo., back to Portland in a Kia Stinger, but that's not how I got to the snow-encrusted mountain town wedged deep in the middle of the Rockies. Nope, I got there the "quick" way via Dog Friendly Airlines, a two-hour stop in San Francisco, a landing at Montrose airport and a two-hour drive in the 2019 Kia Sorento. That, plus a brief jaunt around Crested Butte would be the extent of my seat time in the revised-for-2019 family crossover, but it was enough to shine a light on what's changed (not a lot) and remind that this is still a worthwhile alternative to a pair of midsize SUV segments. Ah, they actually changed it? Sure did! It takes looking quite closely at side-by-side photos, but lo-and-behold, there were subtle styling changes made for the 2019 Sorento. The headlight clusters were rearranged so that the LED turn signal strip is now below the headlight elements rather than above them. Below, there are still four LED running lights (still found … [Read more...] about 2019 Kia Sorento SX-L V6 Quick Spin: A handsome refresh
